I decided to check out this bar during a few bar runs. First week in the city. I wasn't sure as the bar seemed a bit outside of my style but decided to give it a try. Well I can tell you that the service is absolutely amazing. The food is very good and well worth the price. Wait time for a drink was reasonable. Can get a bit busy at times but the service was absolutely fantastic. The bartender (I believe Jess was her name?) was very helpful and did her best despite being overwhelmed, I definitely appreciate that. Was very straightforward and direct, willing to work with you to get what you're looking for.
Granted I was the only black person in the bar, I was a little thrown off but given the neighborhood, it's to be expected. Just be chill, patient and you'll be treated fairly. Not that complicated. I'd definitely recommend this spot.

I sat at the bar with a friend and was ignored for most of the night. While people around us were quickly served—given drinks, menus, and food—we struggled to even get basic attention. We were never offered food until we explicitly asked for menus, and even then, no one followed up to take our order.
What made this worse was the realization that I was the only Black person at the bar. My white friend was with me, but it was clear to both of us that service and attention were consistently going to others, not us. When I finally proactively asked for food, the bartender (Jess?) was combative and said I needed to wait my turn…even though we had been waiting for at least 20 minutes to order. She said I was angry because they didn’t have my drink order, when in reality I was fine with taking her recommendation on a different brand.
This felt very targeted a more than just poor service. I felt unwelcome at my “neighborhood” bar.

Great wait staff! Fish fry and French fries over cooked on August 15, 2025. I’m hoping that it was just bad night for kitchen staff. Usually fish dinners are awesome!

Our group came in on a Wednesday for Wing Night. Great variety of sauces, wings were all cooked perfectly. Nice selection of local beers on tap. Emily our bartender did such an excellent job. Dicky’s is one of Rochester’s oldest bars, and if you haven’t been there, you should definitely check it out.

Love this quaint pub! Matt was a great host and the food was delicious. He was so open to suggestions for some of the vegan food we ordered - poutine, buffalo tofu bites and vegan nachos with jackfruit. We suggested adding more of a hot sauce or vegan queso to the nachos and he welcomed the suggestion so openly. Their poutine veggie gravy is so so delicious! You’ve gotta try it.
