Our server Dana is WONDERFUL! She goes above and beyond each and every time we dine here! She knows the drink menu well, especially the bourbons (for the discerning) she is delightful and personable! The food is ALWAYS outstanding, beyond our expectations every time! While Rochester area restaurants seem to be gouging their clientele as of late, Flight West remains steadfast and welcoming, with some of the best wines and bourbons that we feel are reasonably priced and delicious! We will go back again and again, no reason to go anywhere else.

I’ve been to Flight West plenty of times. The ambiance is solid, no complaints there. But this last visit? Easily the worst yet.
I ordered the so-called “Wagyu” filet, and let me tell you, there was nothing premium about it. It was cooked almost medium-well instead of the requested medium-rare, dry as cardboard, and had that old meat taste you’d expect from a sketchy grocery store, not a $70+ steak. Either they’re using the term “Wagyu” very loosely, or someone in the kitchen is asleep at the grill. Had I not been so hungry, I definitely would’ve left way more on the plate.
Service? Meh. Our waitress never asked how the steak was, never checked in, and clearly couldn’t care less. If you’re going to charge over $200 for a meal, the bare minimum is attentive service. Ask how the food is. Pretend to care. Train your staff like you’re running an actual restaurant, not a dive with mood lighting.
The lone highlight was the grilled octopus, expertly charred with a tender bite, layered over sweet corn and blistered peppers, finished with a well-balanced, smoky sauce. A thoughtful dish, but hardly enough to offset the disappointment that followed.
Flight West might look the part, but experiences like this prove it’s style over substance. Do better.

Excellent drinks, service, and food. Pricey and worth it!
I love this place!!! I have been twice, and it was even better than the first time. Their food is the best in Rochester. The Chef and Sous Chef are amazing. The staff is very welcoming and helpful. The best drinks in town as well. Great atmosphere. I will be back again and again.
Update June 2025
I celebrated my sister's birthday by attending their Sunday brunch. It was amazing!!! Everyone's food was delicious and the mimosa flight was very tasty. As usual great staff and atmosphere. We will be back!!!

It's almost perfect! The drink selection is really good and the service is amazing. The food is definitely great, I highly recommend going for dinner or appetizers. I do think it has the potential to be even better though. I want to stress that the food is absolutely amazing and I think everyone should give it a try! But some of the dishes would have been literally perfect with just a hint more sweetness or acidity. For example the fennel pollen pasta dish had these sweet candied things in it and every bite that had a bit of that in it was perfect, it just needed a couple more! It was still miles better than most of what's available in the area.

Great whiskey bar! Amazing ( and almost intimidating) selection of whiskey from around the world. Be it Kentucky Bourbon or a Speyside Single Malt Scotch, you can find it here!

The food was delicious!!!! My friend got the special burger and said it was the best burger she had ever had. I ordered the butter chicken which was so flavorful and a huge portion. I was happy to have enough to bring to work for lunch the next day. Vlad makes the best espresso martini I've ever had!! Overall a great experience and I would highly recommend Flight West to friends and family.
Small spot that gets busy incredibly quickly and rightfully so. A MASSIVE liquor collection especially for the bourbon fans out there. A lot of options are not on the regular menu so be sure to ask for the allocated list and even still, look behind the bar. There's too many for them to keep up with I'm sure. Menu isn't huge but the food was phenomenal. A non-steakhouse that cooked my steak perfectly is almost impossible to find. Ordered surf and turf and the two lobster tails were definitely very small but the mashed potatoes and veggies were text book. Definitely expensive but so worth it. Every time I come in from Buffalo, I try and stop there. Great job guys!
