The food is fantastic. The Hideaway burger literally tastes like a $100 burger in a NYC bistro. Not pretentious just simple food done *really* well. Staff is kind, food is consistently quality. Should have a line out the door.

Very cozy and quaint atmosphere. Staff was great didn't visit the table constantly like other places which was nice. It was a perfect balance at being attentive and just leaving you alone. Food was really good. Had the shrimp and scallop risotto. They had a nice buy a Martini and get an order of fries with an in house made dip which was fantastic. Will definitely visit when in town again.

Steak was cooked perfectly but it came out cold, fries luke warm. No seasoning on the steak or in the chimichurri sauce. Desperately needed salt. Drinks were good. Service was super hectic looking, but fine.

Went for a mimosa brunch. Drinks were great, service was excellent. Only issue was the food was kinda bland! Got a chicken sandwich and the texture was perfect but the flavor was meh.

Haven’t been here in years, the remodel is nice, good atmosphere.

I agree with others the food is bland, the drinks are sub par and it’s all over priced.

We shared:

PROSCIUTTO & BURRATA $15
COUNTRY BREAD, TOMATO JAM, EVOO, SEA SALT

Being vegetarian we ordered it w/out meat…small slice of really good bread - maybe the prosciutto would have added the flavor, there was NO sea salt. The price is not right-two slices maybe?

CLASSIC CAESAR SALAD $13
ROMAINE LETTUCE, GARLIC CROUTONS,
PECORINO ROMANO, LEMON GARLIC CAESAR DRESSING

Plenty of fresh romaine, bland dressing, very little cheese and small hard croutons that were burnt, tasted no garlic, no lemon.

We asked for salt pepper and red pepper flakes, that helped both the salad and the entree.

Gnocchi Caprese. $23

Well made sauce thick with pieces of tomato, Gnocchi was a mouthful- could have been smaller - and ridges to hold the sauce , but they were good.

However, again, the entire dish was BLAND BLAND BLAND. Wanted to love it. Better with salt, pepper and red pepper flakes - but some fresh basil would have been great oh and some bread to mop up the sauce as they did give plenty of it.

I agree also the staff does leave you alone, not once were we asked about our dishes, she seemed offended when we requested the salt and pepper (the table next to requested them as well).

Food and four cocktails came to $126 after taxes and CC fees.

Would love to give it another shot if I heard they found the spice rack and herb garden.

Relaxed atmosphere, good food, and good service. What's more to ask for. The staff here kills it everyday.

The Hideaway hosted an event for us in their back room and it an amazing experience. Food and service were far beyond what we expected. We were having a hard time booking a different venue for our event so I reached out to Max just in case it fell through. Max responded to my inquiry right away and set up a call to discuss the plans for our event. He offered to hold the room for a couple days while we made our decision, which was unexpected and very much appreciated. Based on that interaction alone, we canceled on the original venue we had been communicating with for months and went with Max and the Hideaway. I wish I had known they did events earlier. They were amazing! They were flexible on the time, let us arrange the tables in the room as needed, were very personable and somehow knew exactly when to come by to get us more food and drinks. Amazing food, amazing service, amazing experience... I'd rate them higher if I could! If you are looking for an event or party venue in Rochester, look no futher

Had a great light lunch with a friend on a relaxed Friday. Medjool dates with prosciutto and gorgonzola were delicious! Just the right balance of sweet and salty, and the gorgonzola didn't overpower everything. The Thai coconut steamed mussels were outstanding. Lots of bread to sop up all the delicious broth! I stole one from my friend because it smelled so good! I had a standard glass of white, but the Smoking Jacket cocktail was beautiful and delicious! Our server Michele was attentive, friendly, upbeat, without being hover-y. Excellent vibe, great service, wonderful food and creative cocktails made it a great place to chat and catch up!

The inside is very inviting. Nice atmosphere. Easy to talk to your guests. Seating is cozy, if you’re looking for privacy probably not the place.

Despite some reviews we found our servers to be friendly, attentive and quick. Drinks from the bar came out very quickly. Nice selection.

Food was okay. Prices are reasonable and portions were decent. I say okay because I concur with some of the reviews noting the food to be under-seasoned and a bit bland. Presentation and freshness were great. Food also came out quickly.

We tried:
The wrapped dates. The umami flavor of the Gorgonzola used to stuff the date overpowered the dish. The other flavors became lost and after eating 2 it was hard to differentiate any other flavor outside of the Gorgonzola.

Shrimp and Scallop risotto: well plated. Good size shrimp and well cooked. Smaller scallops (1cm) but decent amount and expected for this type of dish. It was good but just underwhelmed. The seafood flavor was there but I kept finding myself wanting salt or something to add a bit of pizazz to the dish.

Carbonara: the main reason my wife wanted to come here. Well plated. Smelled good. Again, underwhelming. Needed salt. The dish was supposed to have pancetta, and if it was in there it was minuscule. We both searched the dish but found none. Possibly forgotten and why the dish was bland and lacked salt.

The food concepts are great and not bad. Going out though you look for those intense flavors you can’t produce at home and it was just not there for us this time.

This place is always been my go to on park. Although I hadn’t been since last fall, I was expecting to enjoy the traditional pumpkin spice espresso martini with friends. To my disappointment, the bartend simply stated no, we don’t have them.
Settled for the traditional espresso martini, which was substandard. I think you have to be friends with the bar tender in order to receive attentive service.. as well as free drinks which was demonstrated during our visit
