We weren't sure of what to expect, but we decided to be adventurous that day and were pleasantly surprised. The house is hidden in the back of the Islamic Culture Center on Culver Rd. near E. Main St. It looks like they hold festivities/events there because the backyard was lined with white tents. Inside the setup is similar to a simple park cabin/lodge - open dining room, kitchen, and bathroom. There's also a big screen T.V. The gentleman was very friendly and when I asked to see the menu, he showed us the chicken and beef kebabs. With only two options, it was easy to decide what I wanted to try. We ordered one of each expecting only the kebabs, but it also included two flat breads and a side of vegetables that remind me of pico de gallo for $8. He told me it was called Lahmacun and that it was like a Turkish pizza, but I ate it like a gyro, wrapping the meat and vegs inside the bread. The vegs were diced tomato, red onion, and cilantro tossed in a lime dressing topped with a full jalapeno pepper. I preferred the chicken over the beef. The chicken was juicy and tender and delightfully complimented the warmly toasted bread and zesty lime vegetables. The beef needed more seasoning and was less juicy so with that texture, I think adding a sauce would have made it even better. I hope they offer more menu items in the future because I would like to try more Turkish dishes. Until then, I most likely will not be a regular, but at least I know of a new Turkish spot.

While the decor and ambience are cafeteria like, the authentic Turkish dishes are great. Having recently re-opened, the new cooks are keeping the menu simple with Chicken and Beef Kabobs, and a spiced beef covered, hand-rolled flat bread called Lahmacun. I enjoyed Turkish Chai with my dinner and Turkish coffee afterward. The food is delicious, plentiful and inexpensive. My family and I ordered all three dishes and shared, none of which disappointed. The only difficulty here is realizing the restaurant is tucked behind the Islamic Center at the back of the parking lot. I will come back often.
