They made sure that my husband and I constantly had some form of appetizer in our hand or at our table. frequently checked in with us throughout the night and packed up all leftovers for us. My partner and I were confident in our choice of Madeline’s catering for our wedding, as they came at a high recommendation to us. Our dinner service was pushed back a full hour and 15 minutes - from a 6:45 serve time to 8pm. For a 5 hour event, this is a significant amount of time and cut into our reception and time spent mingling and dancing with guests at our one wedding … ever. I can’t emphasize enough how this loss of time impacted our flow and our experience on our wedding day. We also had to compensate the other vendors to extend their time (shuttle, DJ).
We were not offered an explanation initially - they just kept saying “we need more time” until an hour had passed and they told us the person delivering food was “not answering”. This is a very stressful thing to hear an hour after waiting. We emailed Madeline’s to resolve the matter that following Monday, and it wasn’t until 9 days later that they called 3 times in a row during work hours with no prior plan or communication. We called back the next day and the person we spoke to on the phone was extremely rude and essentially bullied us into disproportionate recompense.
To be honest, the food was delicious and the staff onsite was very kind and appeared to be working very hard - but I cannot recommend Madeline’s on account of the extremely unprofessional behavior we encountered. If she were even kind over the phone this might be a different review. A complete lack of empathy and professionalism. If your event is a wedding i’d steer clear from this vendor entirely.

Madeline's catered my niece's wedding. They were so great to work with, accommodating to our requests and professional. The food was absolutely delicious. Many guests asked who catered it because it was notable. The staff was attentive and professional. I highly recommend them for any event!

Not only was the food delicious (which I find to be rare with catering with a large amount of people) the service was above and beyond! We did full service and the servers made sure plates were full the whole time and they specifically checked in on me multiple times throughout the night. We spent a year planning our dream wedding, and while written communications with Madeline could be frustrating (she doesn’t read or respond to emails in a thorough manner), we did find her to be flexible and accommodating, and the food we tasted when sampling the menu was excellent. However, we were surprised and heartbroken at how badly our plans were executed on the day of the wedding. Despite our contract stating that it was to be an open bar, we were horrified to discover that the bartender from Madeline's Catering had switched our open bar to a cash bar, and several of our guests were charged money for their drinks before the event coordinator told her it was supposed to be an open bar all night long. We later discovered that a number of our guests never even went to the bar because the rumor had spread that it was a cash bar! Our overpriced filet mignon was served with the wrong topping, but otherwise the food was good. However, we are still mortified that our guests ever thought we expected them to open their wallets at our wedding! (We did get Madeline's to refund their money.) We were also very disappointed that there was only one person pouring drinks during the busy cocktail hour, especially since our contract required a second person to be pouring drinks during this time. We had asked to pay for a second bartender for that time, but Madeline just wanted to assign a server to help out — and then that didn’t even happen. A word of advice to anyone thinking of hiring Madeline’s Catering: insist on speaking with the staff who will be working the event to review the details of the catering contract; do not rely on Madeline to do that, as we found her to not be a good communicator, and she did not put in the necessary time to supervise new staff. One last note: aside from the bartender, we did find the servers—especially the lead server, Anne — to be very dedicated to making our wedding reception everything we hoped for. Anne was especially kind and thoughtful.

The guests were thrilled and full of compliments for the appetizers, the chicken French, the beef, the green beans, even the rolls. The desserts : especially the ice cream sundae bar were a big hit!! Our server, Anne, went out of her way to make our special day perfect with her attention to the buffet, and our bartender, Kim, who went above and beyond in terms of her service for our guests. We could not recommend Madeline's enough to anyone looking to cater their wedding or special event.

Madeline worked with us to have a custom menu that could accommodate a wide range of dietary needs, and they were amazing about allergies. The highlight was the assorted pastries and desserts. As a pastry snob, I had no complaints. The day of staff was great and went above and beyond for us, making sure that we had time space to eat.

I loved the Creme Brulee French Toast and candied bacon, as did our guest! My favorite treat was the homemade cannolis! I appreciated Madeline's working with us to make sure there were dairy and gluten free options. One DF/GF guests commented that she had never attended an event where she had so many options. We highly recommend Madeline's Catering!
