We are from out of town but visit ROC frequently because our son plays on the Jr. Amerks Juniors/NAHL team. He and some teammates discovered this place and go there for lunch literally every day they have home games. This place is the best-family owned and operated, great food great prices, great service! Tiramisu is my favorite thing in the world and Mamma G’s tiramisu is the best I have ever had. Carlo is the bomb!

My boyfriend and I were referred to this place and when we walked in the owner asked if we had a reservation we said no he said no problem we can get you a table. The staff was very friendly. We ended up ordering a fish fry even though it's an Italian restaurant and I do have to say all the food around us looked delicious and this was one of the best fish fries we have had. I highly recommend this place. Just make sure to make reservations.

We had a party of 3 on a Tuesday night at 5 pm and didn't think we needed reservations. Apparently, it is always busy here. So make a reservation! We were going to leave to go somewhere else, but the owner insisted that we would be taken care of. They found us a table, and the owner served us himself. The food was delicious! If you are expecting a lot of decor and waiters in uniforms, this is not the place for you. This is a family run place with all hands on deck type of service. The atmosphere is bustling but not chaotic. The staff are all in street clothes. That threw me off a little, but it works for them. If I could suggest something, maybe get aprons that say Mamma G's for the service staff to wear, just for a little more distinction. Otherwise, it was a great meal!
The food and the service are outstanding! Never had such good Italian food. The exterior as well as the interior need renovations though. But you don't go there for the looks, you go for the food and that's why I will visit again when I'm back in Rochester.

Great experience here. Food and service were excellent. We tried all of the vegetarian options as well and they were all superb. It was hard not to lick the leftover marinara off my plate. Desserts were also delicious (we had the cannoli and tiramisu).
Food was good. Dessert was great. On busy nights, expect to need a reservation or wait a long time.

Visiting my sister, she recommended Mama G's. Can't remember the name of the dish but it was eggplant and zucchini layered with sauce. The whole dish was superb. My husband had the meatball sandwich, absolutely delicious. For dessert we had the "lobster tails". I had the pistachio and it was lite and very yummy. Will definitely come back when we visit my sister again. Would certainly recommend.

One does not go to Mama G's for the atmosphere as it is more of an diner ambiance then anything else, BUT the food and the service is amazing! I order their gnocchi with mozzarella and get no less then 4 substantial meals out of it. Delicious!

We also didn't wait for the check, which I experience a lot at other places. Definitely make reservations, they are busy!
