Welcome back, Martusciello’s Bakery — you were very missed!
I can’t even express how happy I was to see this legendary name return to Gates under the new Casa Saratoga banner. This place has always been a staple in the community, and having it back — with the original owner no less — is like getting a piece of home returned.

On my visit, I picked up a few loaves of their signature Italian crusty pane — still hands-down the best bread in Gates, no question. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, just like I remember. I also couldn’t resist grabbing a variety pack of their Italian cookies, and every single one was a hit with the family. The flavors, the freshness — it brought back memories and made some new ones too.

It’s not just about baked goods here — it’s about tradition, quality, and a local institution that truly delivers. Casa Saratoga is a five-star experience all day long, and I’m so glad I finally got to introduce my family to the bread that defined my neighborhood growing up.

I'm new to NY, and I have not eaten bread this awesome. I don't buy the DiPaolo from Wegmans anymore. I am now sitting in my car waiting for this place to open now. Crazy. And it's less expensive than what I used to buy.

For anyone who mourned the loss of those delicious Martusciello rolls and baked goods, great news, the bakery reopened now as Casa Saratoga. The lights were on when I drove by there recently, so I stopped in today to see what was going on. A very friendly woman greeted me and went on to tell me that some of the same people are making many of the same type of rolls and baked goods as they did when the bakery was operating as Martusciello's. And the prices are still very reasonable like they were before. A bag of six delicious Italian sandwich rolls costs just $3. Try getting THAT kind of deal on fresh baked rolls anywhere else, including Wegmans. Seriously, if you've missed those delicious baked goods from Martusciello's, your prayers have been answered. Enjoy, and thanks for reading!

I discovered this bakery online. I grew up in an Italian neighborhood in Endicott, NY and I was actively looking to find a place that resembled the bakeries of my childhood to get “the best” rolls for my child’s special day.

I visited this store in person when it was recommended by the owner during our first phone call. When I arrived, the woman who I spoke with to place my order was nice. The owner did not speak to me. I ordered rolls for our party (a week ahead). She quoted me $20 (AND she double checked her math!). My husband picked up at scheduled time a week later under my name. He was charged $32. No explanation for the 50 %+. increase. I immediately tried to call to figure this out. Nobody picked up. I called repeatedly. Customer service was almost as disappointing as the rolls. .

I was looking for sandwich rolls and they had exactly what I needed and the right amount. The smell in there is so amazing, that I had to get a small pizza too, which was excellent! The owner was super friendly and I'm certain I'll be back for more baked goods soon. A real gem.
