Celebrated my birthday at Maru last night. This has been my favorite sushi spot in Rochester for years! The staff was amazing and patient with the 8 of us! And, of course, the sushi was delicious as always. Thank you Maru!

I was greeted by chef yelling what do you want , why are you here? I do not understand why they included Ramen in their name. This restaurant does not have any Ramen. Sushi was of good quality but why claim in your name that you serve Ramen.Wheelchair accessibility: Building is wheelchair accessible.

They don't have ramen on their menu anymore :( They said it had been removed about 2-3 weeks ago. I came for valentines day and was excited about the ramen so I was pretty disappointed. The sushi and service was still very good though, but there isn't a huge selection of sushi.

Their sushi gave me food poisoning. Maybe their non-raw stuff is okay? But I wouldn’t get raw fish sushi from them again.

Maru has been great every time I've come, one of my favorite spots. Great veggie options. It's a clean, quiet, and nice place, with friendly and attentive staff. I recommend

Had crab rave roll and fire cracker. The spicy tuna in the firecracker roll had so much Siracha I don’t think there was any fish. Hard to eat and was done after one bite. The crab in the rave roll tasted off like it wasn’t clean. Tried my husbands and the tuna slices tasted like that pink dyed gross stuff you get from the frozen section at the grocery store. His spicy tuna roll was the same just loaded so much with siracha you can’t taste anything else. Gyoza was underwhelming just meh. My kids had the tokontsu ramen and I tried some. Pork was ok flavor not the best and the broth was bland. Noodles weren’t very appetizing either . I’ve had sushi from east to west coast and this was almost the worst. My husband had food poisoning later that night. They did take the rolls I didn’t eat off the bill though.

By far the best Asian food and ambience in Rochester. Andy and Winnie have taken us into their family and have filled our hearts and tummies on many occasions. In the spring or summer, the sushi is refreshingly delectable and in the fall and winter, the ramen is soothingly warm. Everything about Maru is feeling safe and sound AND full.

A great place for Ramen and sushi. I had the Shoyu Ramen which is a Ramen with sliced chicken and cabbage in a soy sauce chicken broth, served with Ajitsuke egg. I also tried tge Gyoza which is a dumpling with a chicken and pork mix. Finally, I tried the sushi, salmon and cucumber and eel and cucumber. These foods were amazing. Cooked well and great flavor!
