If you want decent quality overpriced uncooked meat at market prices, go for it. If you want cooked food, not so much. I went and got some meat, beans and sausage. The sausage was gamey and had a beef jerky texture. The beans were undercooked. How do f up baked beans? Sorry but you can do better McCann’s

Fantastic, but on a sad note the location will be closing in a few months time. Please visit while you can nothing like it in Rochester. From cow to counter to grill and the fires ?.

Staff disinfects tables between visits? That's funny. Went there today for lunch and was not what I expected. Busy, hard to park, dirty, and it really wasn't very good. Bummer.

Disappointed with the shank I bought here, stewed it for 3+ hours and still ended up chewy and flavorless. Also the 2⁴ or whatever sandwich was insanely greasy and made me super nauseous, out of the 4 times I've been here now, the only things that I have been happy with were the skirt steak and Italian sausages that I bought for someone else. $13 for beef shank is a crazy price, and you have to back that up with crazy quality, unfortunately, it just wasn't there.Edit: Business reply doesn't appear to be here but I think you're right about my stewing, I did fry it before starting that process, I do understand that the tenderness could definitely fall to my cooking method sure but I have to state that when I buy a cut of beef that is very high above the average price, I do expect the ratio of meat and marbling to connective tissue to be in favor of the former. I really feel that I didn't get anywhere close to the amount of value I should've gotten for that, and after visiting local farms that charge around 4-5 for the same cut but with better marbling and less junk inflating the weight, I really don't see a reason to go to a middleman like this place anymore.

We went for brunch on Saturday, had never been before. We are from out of state. The staff could NOT have been nicer. The food was delicious. The pancakes were very light and very flavorful and now, three days later, my wife cannot stop talking about the sausage we had for breakfast. We will be back.

A friend took me Thursday for the Day Special, Korean Style BBQ Ribs. Not only they sell meats, but have a restaurant to sample them. The Special Ribs came with White Rice, I wish they would have some veggies or salad on the plate. They have side dishes that you can purchase to add to the meal. My friend got Beets & Kimchi. The Ribs are thinly sliced beef ribs with a sauce on the side. Delicious! A generous portion to have left overs. This place is a meat lover dream spot. Every day of the week they have a Daily Special . I will have to come on other days to sample the different Specials. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage are available. One orders, pay, and are given an electronic tag to indicate when the meal is ready to be pick up at the counter to be taken to your table. There is an extensive menu of Sandwiches, from Breakfast fare to a Cuban one. I'll have to try it on my next visit.

Went here for lunch yesterday with some co-workers. Ordered the beef-on-weck as my boss said that was really good. I was kind of disappointed as the sandwich was okay but not anything spectacular by any means. The meat was kind of under cooked in my opinion as it seemed bright red. I’m cool with medium cooked but not rare/medium rare. Also later that evening my stomach was hurting and I couldn’t figure out why until I realized the only thing I had different that day was that sandwich. I wouldn’t go back there again.

We ordered our annual Christmas Eve rib roast from McCanns - our first time from this shop. It smelled off from the moment I opened the package - like sweaty socks - and the smell lingered as it cooked. It tasted terrible and nobody ate more than a few bites. We paid $228 for the roast, ended up going hungry, and spent the night worrying that what we DID eat would make us ill.I sent a message to McCanns that night and brought the remaining roast back when they opened again for the owner to inspect. While we had a mutually respectful conversation, we were at an impasse. In spite of smelling it he said that he stood by his product and we must not be accustomed to the taste of dry aged beef (we are - this flavor was deeply weird). McCanns sold us an inedible product but no refunds or credits were issued. We were left with a giant waste of meat, money and time and a ruined holiday meal. Very disappointing.

McCanns is definitely a unique dining experience. Their cuts and selection are awesome, and the cafe food is very tasty. I can comment that the weekend shakshuka is very tasty - though I wish it had some meat in it. Shakshuka isn't the most common thing to find in upstate NY though, so I was happy for the option. I will comment that the Tuesday Gogirrito was super tasty, fresh, the sauce in it is awesome, though I wish there was a tad more meat. The bulgogi sammy had plenty of meat, super tasty, a little overboard on the veggie slaw when I had it, but overall very tasty. The chili cheese fries are beyond generous in toppings, so it was essentially a third meal rather than just a side. Overall, I'm excited to check a few more of their daily specials and I'm hoping to try out some of their meats to cook at home!

Strip loin roast I purchased here (first time customer) and slow cooked on pellet grill was the best piece of beef I have ever had. Beat Ruth Chris', Michael Jordan's , and Keens Steakhouse in NYC.

We are in town for Thanksgiving from Philly. We are serious foodies and the garbage plate is one of the BEST things I have ever eaten. The fries were crazy good and the Mac salad was soooo delicious. Separate shout out for the meat- I mean if you love meat- this is the place. All I can say is WOW.

Amazing food! Friendly staff. Loved the pancakes! Will be back next time we are in town.

We went for breakfast. Loved the pancakes! Ordered the AM muffin and 2x2x2x2 breakfast sandwiches, but thought they both were extremely greasy and surprisingly flavorless. Don’t plan to be back for breakfast, but might try for lunch.
