We’ve been to many Mexican restaurants in Kentucky, Florida, Indiana, Alabama, Tennessee, New York and many times have gotten great Fajitas so sadly the ones we got there tonight were not close to even average. First the Steak wasn’t even cut all the way through. First one I went to get pulled up about 15 other uncut chunks with it. The Chicken had almost no flavor and was super chunky and had some fatty gristle in parts, Shrimp was tough and still had tails on them. The Margaritas were good and got 2 each but no pricing was shown before hand. $10 each for about a 10 oz size is pretty steep from any we’ve gotten in Louisville which have many Mexican restaurants with 20oz lime ones for 7.99. I’m sure They have great items but our choice didn’t work out tonight . Left about 70% behind. Bill with 20% tip was $ 80

Mi Rancho Alegre is a solid spot for Mexican food in Greece, with moderate prices, excellent service, and some unique touches that set it apart. Right away, we were greeted with chips, salsa, and a bean dip at the table — a nice little bonus that made us feel welcome before we even ordered.

For appetizers, we tried their Mexican-style fried calamari, which came with jalapeños and a honey-based dipping sauce. The sauce had a really nice flavor, but the calamari breading itself could have used more seasoning to really make it pop. Still, it was a creative twist on a familiar dish and worth trying.

For my entrée, I went with the Tacos Pastor, and they were exactly how I like them: absolutely packed with pork and pineapple. Every bite was flavorful and satisfying, and the accompanying salsa verde was no joke — it had a burn that lasted nearly an hour, but I loved every second of it. The rice and beans on the side were also better than expected, with more flavor than you usually find at places that treat them as an afterthought.

My wife ordered the Quesadilla Asada. She thought it was fine — tasty enough, but not something she’d rave about or call a standout dish.

Overall, Mi Rancho Alegre delivered a friendly, flavorful experience with a few areas that could be punched up (a little more seasoning here, a little more “wow” factor there). Still, between the welcoming service, solid portions, and dishes like the tacos al pastor, it’s definitely a place worth visiting. A strong four stars.

Food and service were fantastic. Too loud though. Have to practically scream when ordering.

First of all this place is SPOTLESS! My husband and I have been here 4 times and each and every time it’s been delicious - food & drinks wise. The service is friendly and efficient. We’ve been to all the Mexican restaurants in our area and surrounding towns and IMHO this Mexican restaurant is #1 in Rochester. Come here. You won’t be disappointed.

We stayed in Rochester for a comedy show and this is legit the only place we ate... if we could pick it up and bring it back to Ithaca we would.

Never coming back here again. They dont have a lunch menu. They have coupons advertised in the front of the restaurant saying $5 off $20 lunch and when i brought it up when we got the check they said we had to have a physical copy. Why would u put it up front then if we cant use it? On top of that they played rock music the whole time. What kind of Mexican restaurant is this?

Pastor taco's were not good. Very dry with little flavor.

Chimichanga was soggy, but flavor was ok.

Churros were actually very good.

We won't be back, not with Los Gallos just down the street.

Good Mexican Spot with Room for Improvement

While staying nearby, my hotel recommended Mi Rancho, conveniently located right across the street. The service was welcoming, and my server was helpful in suggesting what to try. I started with the tableside guacamole, which was a bit of a wait and, unfortunately, lacked flavor. But hey, it’s guacamole—I still enjoyed it.

For my main, I went with the Tacos Jalisco: three lightly grilled corn tortillas in a delicious house-made red salsa, filled with my choice of grilled chicken, topped with onions, cilantro, and queso fresco, and served with guacamole on the side. These tacos were excellent, hitting all the right notes with freshness and flavor.

I’d definitely go back to try another dish and see what else Mi Rancho has to offer!

I was referred by a friend to try this restaurant and I must say the service was terrible. Me and my friend (the one who referred me) went yesterday on 11/9. My food was pretty good however my friend on the other hand did not like her food. After the waitress took our order and brought our food out she did not come to check on us and I mean at all. I had to call her over to let her know we were ready to box our food. When she brought the boxes back my friend communicated to her that she was not happy with her meal. All the waitress had to say was ok. I then chimed in to see if she could pay half price being she didn't like her food and barely touched it. She said nothing at that point my friend stated that she would not be coming back to which the waitress responded by eye-rolling and saying “psss” as if she could care less. She then proceeded to take my friend and ended up charging her for the wrong meal. I then spoke to another employee who was empathetic and understanding of our frustrations with the lack of care and poor service we received from the previous waiter. I asked him for the young woman's name and he seemed a little hesitant but he said her name was Jen (I'm not sure if it is her real name.) Their system shut down which resulted in me getting a free meal which I could say is probably good i got out of it but unfortunately my friend was charged for someone else’s meal.
