The best in this part of town for sure. It is in the historic old building on Monroe Avenue but it is huge with lots of wonderful servers there. Really diverse menu, love the salad selections. Huge bar with lots of fun people...I try to go weekly
Absolutely a terrible experience!!! Worst experience I've had in 20 years. Service was awful. 10 minutes to get a drink (only 4 people at the bar). 25 minutes to get our simple appetizers and an hour plus to get an entrees. I finally asked to pay for the two bottles of wine I bought and my salad (over cooked streak) and the manager (who is not qualified to work at McD's says, we don't do separate checks. If you want terrible service and overrated food. Monroe's is your placed to go!
Nice location, friendly staff, but some of the entrees were not up to expectations. The Verdita is lacking in flavor and sauce.
We hosted a baby shower for about 35 guests in the Vintage Room at Monroe’s in March 2025, and everything was absolutely wonderful. The food was delicious, the service was impeccable, and the venue itself was beautiful. We received so many compliments from our guests, and I would wholeheartedly recommend Jeremy and his team for any future events you may be planning.
Worst experience ever! Me and my husband had reservations at 7:30pm we arrived on time just for them to give our table away they were pretty busy so we gave them an ample amount of grace. We did not get our food til 9:45pm we had to constantly get other staff to let our waiter know we was ready to order we ordered a STARTER that we waited over an hour for just for them to bring out a different ENTREE that we did not order and if my husband didn’t say anything they were expecting us to eat it and pay for something we didn’t order. Our actual entrees did not come until 9:45 keep in mind they close at 9pm. The food was HORRIBLE my husband ordered the “Verdita” with chicken & shrimp the pasta was so strong it tasted like it was sitting in cooking wine all night. I say all this to say my experience here at Monroe’s was awful I highly would NOT recommend waste of money and time. The manger Jeremey offered a round of drinks for the inconvenience but considering what we experienced we politely denied

Extremely disappointed with the service during my daughter’s 16th birthday family dinner. The hostess and our waiter, Jess, provided the bare minimum—very unfriendly to say the least.
Unlike other reputable restaurants, they never acknowledged our special occasion or made any effort to enhance the experience. The entire time it felt we were an inconvenience and being rushed through. (Reservation was 6pm.) We genuinely felt unwelcome, but thankfully, we didn’t let that overshadow our time together as a family!
As the only minorities in the restaurant at the time, I couldn’t help but wonder if we were being treated differently. After reading reviews, it’s clear that many others have had similar experiences.
While the food was good, a $230+ bill—including an undeserved gratuity—was simply not worth it.
Save your money and dine elsewhere; plenty of restaurants in the area offer the same quality food with a far better experience.

I recently dined at Monroe’s, and unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. I ordered a dish that I simply didn’t like—not that it was prepared incorrectly, but it just wasn’t to my taste. I politely let the server know and asked if I could order something different. Instead of handling the situation professionally, the manager was incredibly rude and dismissive.
His attitude felt unnecessarily hostile, as if my request was unreasonable, even though I was willing to pay for another dish. What made the situation even more uncomfortable was that my family and I were the only Black customers in the restaurant at the time. I can’t say for certain if that was a factor, but it definitely felt that way.
A restaurant’s atmosphere isn’t just about the food—it’s about how customers are treated. Based on this experience, I wouldn’t recommend Monroe’s to anyone looking for a welcoming dining environment.
Was out for date night and my husband and I enjoyed the food. However, the service was absolutely terrible. Our waitress Christie wouldn’t check on us for 40 minutes at a time. Never brought us more water when we asked, didn’t offer us any dessert, and overcharged us by adding menu items to our bill that we didn’t order.. just a terrible experience when it was my first time here. Won’t be back here again. Not worth the haste. A nice Valentine’s Day dinner turned into a miserable night so thanks Monroe’s.

Great food and gluten-free options never been ill from eating there. Great liquor selections as well would give it a 5 but parking is a little difficult and stairs
Use to be my to go place for family dinner., however the customer service I received was poor and not welcoming.

From a service standpoint - IMO they were exceptional. We had a family dinner after a memorial service in a private room - and they opened an hour early to better accommodate our schedule. If you have requests, I'd say ask them! They are there to serve us within reason! Food was good all the way around. I got the scallop dish - they were cooked perfectly, not a hint of 'rubberiness' - but for my taste they needed about half the salt that was used. The fingerling potatoes were excellently done too. One of my cousins got the same dish - the first couple scallops she ate were good, then she got a saltier one.
We also had a dedicated bartender - which was nice. My better half had a couple of the same drink - and while they were good - there seemed to be some I inconsistencies in the mixes.

Don't usually post negative experiences and although a fine looking and clean establishment and our waitress was very nice all the staff was quite friendly actually but the food was just atrocious absolutely horrible my wife got the sea bass and the risotto which tasted like Uncle Ben's rice with no salt I got a steak which was well over cooked and nothing was worth the price just a horrible food experience if we would have brought our own dinner from home I would have enjoyed eating there

Rude treatment. I wish someone else woud take this place over. They are not emotionally equipped to run a restaurant. I will never go back.
Way over priced for the kind of food served
Asparagus was over cooked and chicken too for 3 of the meals. Wouldn’t recommend You can get a much better meal at a decent price This was not it!
Dietary restrictions: Didn’t have much to offer for dairy allergies Everything is premade so it’s not fresh either

Hit or miss. Some taste authentic and some are bland and dry. Outdoor patio is cool but wait time is very long
