This is a pretty long review, but it has a lot of important information for freshman at RIT.

Gracie’s is an All-you-care-to-eat cafeteria, which is what makes it really nice, assuming you know what to get.

A lot of people say this place is really bad, but the food has gotten better in 2024, and if you know what to get, you can actually have a decent experience here. The foods I recommend are:
Waffle, Burger, Fruits/Vegetables, Ice cream, Pizza (sometimes), Cereal, Drinks.

For all food, check to make sure it’s cooked properly. I have gotten undercooked food (pizza in particular) in the past. If it’s undercooked, you can get something else in the meanwhile, and maybe try again 15 or so minutes later. If you don’t want to run the risk of undercooked food, then avoid meat options and stick with waffles, fruits/veggies, cereal, drinks, and ice cream. Also, never get omelettes or scrambled eggs here; they are really bad.

Note that when using the waffle irons, there is a potential hazard; only hold by the black handle covers. DO NOT TOUCH the metal part of the handle. It may look safe, but it is scorching hot and can give second degree burns.

If you are getting ice cream, I recommend getting a napkin to wipe down the scooper.

Overall, this place is somewhat bland, but the fact that it is all you care to eat makes it worth it. The only time I got mildly sick was when I got ramen which was undercooked. For Freshmen, I would recommend buying the Roar meal plan, not the Roar Plus, since you get more dining dollars and less Gracie’s meals, and there are better places to eat on campus than RIT, especially Beanz and The Shumway Commons.

Constantly finding hair in my food. Have heard many instances of people getting food poisoning from here.

This is the worst place to eat at RIT hands down. I have only been here a few times, and every time I have eaten something from Gracie's, my it has left me with severe food poisonings. If you have to come here, only get a drink as it is the safest thing at Gracie's.

The food tastes good during open house. And then the school year starts, and it suddenly drops in quality. All of the food here tastes very bland and uninteresting. Do not choose the meal plan with more Graci's swipes; actually, if you can, don't buy any Graci's swipes at all, or very few. Go get food from the visiting chefs instead.

I’m a first year student at RIT and purposefully avoid coming here except for the fact that they make you. The food is subpar and I’ve been told it continuously worsens each year. Only good thing I’ve had here is a waffle that I made myself, similar to in a hotel. Any hotel around here would probably have better quality food than this.

It gets worse every year. “Food” now either tastes of nothing or way way too much, today for my dinner I had a soup that was completely annihilated with onion and had pasta that tasted literally of nothing. Trash quality. Pasta is advertised as having new “sauces” each day but what they really mean is varying amounts of olive oil and butter. Pizza tastes like they put fake butter in it. They kept making it worse bad worse until nobody went there anymore and so now they’ve required students on campus to eat there about three times a week. Worst place on campus by far. RIT is stingy.

“It can’t be that bad, it was good during the open house” DO NOT BUY THE MORE EXPENSIVE MEAL PLAN! IT GIVES LESS MONEY AND MORE GRACIES SWIPES. This place has horrible inconsistent hours, the food is not edible 90% of the

The “food” is usually edible, if by edible you mean it can go into your mouth. It might even stay there.

I guess they fooled us parents during the open house with the food provided. I thought it was great - my son who's now a student there say's it was all just for show, and its actually terrible.

Unpleasant all around. I've got sick multiple times here already, the only reason anyone goes is that the fact they make you go. It'll mess up whatever end it comes out of.
