I ordered light roast coffee and it tastes like it was made with beer. Not good for ME. The pumpkin scone was VERY dry. Disappointed for what it cost me.

My Second Trip to Rochester NY this year and Neutral Ground Coffee became my Favorite Coffee and Bistro anywhere! Perfect Location right across the street from the Genesee River Trail. There are plenty of little shops nearby, also. This Coffee Bistro was Modern and Eclectic. It offers a wide variety of various coffees, fruit juices, smoothies, both cold and grilled sandwiches, salads, healthy food options and foremost: very VERY well mannered Employees. I was greeted with a courteous smile and a verbal welcome, soon as both my legs were in the door. As I had never been there (obviously the first time I went in) The Very Polite Young Lady at the Counter Simply Smiled and Verbally Exclaimed "Take your time. I'm right here if you have any questions about anything."
I was in my head like: "WOW!" Do you know how many Coffee Shops I've entered and there's NO eye contact and all that comes out of their mouths is: "NEXT! What do you want?" (of course I'm looking at what's available from the 12 inch screen behind them) Then, from their mouth again: "Look, could you please step aside until you decide WHAT you want?"
Guess what? NEUTRAL GROUND COFFEE SHOP is NOT LIKE THAT! They actually give a Hoot about EVERY PERSON that walks in there! Thank you!

I love the staff, food and coffee but the Corn Hill location needs to lose the Christmas decorations. It’s too sad?
Chill vibe but very slow, they need more staff.

I have had the coffee, the towpath breakfast sandwich and the chowder (twice). The first time I had the chowder it was very thin and had no "guts" in it, it was all broth. But, it was tasty. The second time it was ridiculously thick and salty like it had been sitting and reducing for 2 days, uneatable.
The sandwich and the burrito are ok. But the product is sub par. Microwaved or baked eggs, weak sourdough bread and no flavor to the burrito.
The coffee is decent and it's a nice place to sit. But for the price of the food I would expect better quality, consistency, and more care put into preparation. $18+ for a breakfast sandwich and chowder.
I will likely avoid this place unless I just want a latte or coffee.

Food was good as well as the coffee and cappuccino. Beware of the to-go cup lids though. They leak all over the place

Google and store hours are wrong.
Got there at 7:30 AM, store wasn’t open.
We live in Cornhill and our first couple times in the food was delicious and the service was great. But the last two times we’ve been in the service and food quality has gone downhill.
I loved the grilled tuna the first time I had it. One of the best of my life. The second time the toast was burnt so bad I had to just eat the filling. I got it to go so I didn’t realize it until I was home. My daughter’s grilled cheese was also burnt.
This morning we walked down for breakfast at 10:00 and the pizza dough wasn’t ready. Real bummer. So I got a breakfast wrap and my daughter and husband got the Avocado toast.
For $6.50 you get one slice of cranberry toast with a few slices of avocado. I thought you’d get two slices. And the fruit in the bread was just an odd combination.
My breakfast wrap was so salty I could barely eat it. We asked for ketchup and it took until my wrap was cold.
My daughter ordered a croissant because she didn’t like the avocado toast. We ordered a buttered croissant. We waited and waited and waited. She went up to the counter to ask if it was ready yet. And it had been sitting on the counter all along. No one said it was there. So I said no one told us it was done. And the guy with the mustache just ignored us. He was also the same person who never got us the ketchup.
I’d like to add that it wasn’t busy at all. The people that ordered after us just got their food 50 minutes later. It’s unfortunate cause I really loved this place when it first opened.

Was in this area for the Corn Hill 5K, so we stopped in after. I used to live in Corn Hill and always said they needed a coffee shop! This place was very cute inside, perfect for a coffee and hangout. We didn’t order coffee though, instead I ordered a half lemonade, half iced tea, as well as a croissant. Not really much else to say but it was great and refreshing. I would definitely go back and give them a try for a coffee when I’m back in the area though. I also really hope this place gets visitors. Corn Hill needs it, and panzaris was always dead.

This is not a well crafted cappuccino and the pastries came out of a refrigerator. In addition to being more expensive then other coffee shops that use better beans and take time to do latte art in your cup

Very good coffee. Lovely outdoor patio and inside space. Staff was friendly and open to doing our coffee the way we like. We've already gone back. Excellent scones.

I've been here multiple times and each time I've been disappointed by the lattes. My partner loves their drip coffee, but I have yet to receive a properly made steamed drink. There's usually way too much foam. Then your cup is only 3/4 full with milk. Matcha latte was super bitter and watery. Way too much matcha. The atmosphere is great. The place is super cute, they sell some local goods, and I love that they have duck food for the river for sale, but the steamed beverage quality needs improving.
