The food is amazing. When I tell you I never thought anyone could outdo Great Win, I really thought it until my husband grabbed food from New Number One. Their rice brings me back to childhood. The people are so sweet and respectful. Just wish their lobby was an actual lobby. It's a mix or a storage room with tables, sadly.
Fantastic shop! Moved to Rochester a few years ago and been trying to find our "regular" takeout place where everyone has their usual order, etc. like we had at our old place. Very pleased to say #1 is now that shop. This is THE takeout if you are looking for the gold standard "American-style" Chinese. 11/10 and the only place in the city I've found that has savory crab rangoons rather than sweet.

I lived down the street from this place when it first opened. First time I ordered from them I got Bourbon Chicken and my brother got General Tsao's. Both were absolutely delicious and I proceeded to have the worst food poisoning of my adult life. Totally worth it, we never ordered from another Chinese place the rest of the time we lived there. And to be fair I only got sick that one time, so I'd say the odds are definitely worth it. I still consider moving back to Rochester...
