Dinner was divine, the yellowtail ceviche, shishito peppers, chuturo, salmon roll and yellowtail truffle roll were so delicious! The new dessert menu is awesome, and the chocolate sensation is likely the best dessert I have ever had. Thank you all so much for your kindness and hard work, I appreciate it and feel lucky to experience it!

I'm not one to normally complain. I know finding staff especially for a restaurant can be challenging, I do not believe this was the case. We stood at the hostess station unnoticed for 2 minutes while there were 3 employees and no one in-front of me before they asked if they could help me. After finally getting seated, there was a group of 4 on the opposite side of the same seating section. They were so loud it was deafening. Not the restaurant's fault, I know. Food was good except we waited 1.5 hours for 5 sushi rolls to arrive. Sadly, only 2 were delivered. Then waited another 25 minutes for the other 3. Meanwhile another party arrived an hour or longer after us. 20 minutes later their food arrived with the basically the same order. Also, they appear very stingy with the soy sauce. It's not left on your table , you have to wait for them to bring it around or flag down someone. Our server was very nice and apologetic. Mentioned it's challenging to monitor orders with their new system. Essentially, my party of 2 was not expecting to spend 2.5 hours there. They didn't appear too busy, they had plenty of empty tables throughout. Wegmans and their restaurants continue to disappoint!

A totally unique dining experience for Rochester. The Wegmans reinvention of Next Door is spot on.
First off do not go here if you have Asthma, the place has the disturbing smell of smoke, It took me 2 hours to get the smell out of my nose and we were only there a short time. We went there not knowing anything about it, thinking we would give it a try. The food menu could have been printed on the two sides of a single sheet of paper, with nothing on it that looked the least bit good, let alone bringing up the insane prices. On the other hand the list of Alcoholic drinks though could have been a small book, so if you like that sort of thing go have fun, though a liquor store will probably smell better. It was loud despite the area we were in not being crowded. After seeing nothing we wanted on the menu, and with my asthma not approving of the smoke smell, we left. This place is trying so hard to be fancy and classy that it has failed miserably, it was literally the worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant, I shouldn't have to worry that I will go into an Asthma attack from trying to eat at a place, no one should have to worry about that. The employees seemed nice enough but I seriously worry for their health being there breathing in the smoke from the fire they have going. Whoever owns the place needs to decide if they want to be a bar or a restaurant because they clearly don't know how to be both, and they better get the smoke issue fixed before a health inspector visits them.

Change…it…BACK! My husband and I normally save this place for our anniversary every year but we chose to have a date there last night. The waiter was super nice as he explained the recent “changes”. One-everything is now Japanese fusion, everything is infused with soy and miso. Two-Everything is ala carte now, no longer does you meal come with sides, you have to pay upwards of $15 for a single vegetable such as literally, half a sweet potato. A single piece of najiri was $15. I decided to get a lava cake to go because ai was told they hired a pastry chef. To add insult to injury, the ice cream was in a ketchup to go container. We spent $250 (+$50 tip) for less food and fewer options. I get it’s in Pittsford and Wegmans intends to open a Next Door grill in NYC-we’re Rochesterians, the median income isn’t six figures. It’s very disappointing they went this direction. Whoever designed this business model needs to rethink its location. Truffle fries and a cocktail? Sure. Full meal, especially steak, it’s sadly time to go elsewhere which is the biggest disappointment because I loved it here. The food as always is amazing but this? It was this business menu model that forced other high end restaurants to close their doors in Rochester.
