In our 50’ s went with wife for early dinner. Food was bland. I had Chicken Dijon (6/10) Three cheese quiche (8/10). Brown rice bland not even salt? Vegetables tasted like they were boiled. No flavor. Spinach salad tasty but small for the money. The decor is dated. Chairs need painting. Knives and forks spotty. Staff friendly. Didn’t have dessert but I might come back for dessert only .
I came for Pastry & Coffee, and decided to have a light lunch of Chicken Salad Platter. The Chicken Salad was delicious, fresh. The Salad Greens, Cherry Tomatoes, Mushrooms, refreshing and crisp Viennese Merengue Torte soft, creamy not too sweet. Service was nice and attentive.
The German Chocolate cake is out of this world and my wife loves the NY style cheesecake. Huge portions, easy to take out.
This is a hidden gem worthy of a road trip! I had the veal French , my date artichoke French. Not only were they delicious, but the portions were plentiful. Perfectly done. Drink prices are beyond reasonable! Our server was wonderful. We are awaiting dessert right now. I actually considered skipping right to dessert as soon as we walked in the place. We came from an hour and a half away for a good dinner before a Chicago concert in downtown Rochester. This alone would’ve been worth the drive!
From our appetizer's to our main course, everything was outstanding!! The owner was extremely personable and stopped over not only to check on us but to thank us for dining there!! Highly recommend it!
Went to Phillips with 6 friends. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I had chicken French and loved how tender and garlicky it was. Rolls and salads were fresh tasting. Excellent service. The show stopper is the huge dessert case. So many cakes to choose from it will make your head spin! I was full from my dinner but could not resist getting a slice of cake to go. Delicious and fancy; can’t wait to go back!
Awesome dinners! Save room for the desserts! During the peak of COVID, you could get take-out. Restaurant had difficulty just like others in keeping employees, but thank goodness they made it! This is a place near Jefferson in Henrietta and is just a huge surprise. Wonderful dinner dishes including Chicken Piccata. you cant go wrong. Dont forget the dessert!
The “gentleman” that answers the phone is very rude. This has happened a few times recently. It’s kind of interesting, they advertise but the people that do try and go there he is rude too. We sat near the door and listened to him over and over again be rude to people coming in. If you can’t seat people there is no reason to be rude! I will not be returning no matter how much I enjoyed the place
We had planned to meet our RIT daughter for dinner but extra long flight delays made it be dessert with her, got here at 9 pm so the dessert counter was not as full as it usually is (picture attached). I cheated and started with Italian Wedding soup that was very good (picture attached). For dessert for three of us we had: - lemon torte - Creme brûlée - salted caramel vanilla bean tort Pictures of all three are attached and all were excellent. Lori B. was friendly and did a nice job helping us We will be in the area fir 10 days and may be back this trip
We stayed at a Marriott hotel for a few days and walked over to this European restaurant and WOW what a surprise. The food was delicious and the service we were served by Jade and went back several times to eat there. The desserts were better than what I expected. The only nitpicking negative that I can say is that the dinner rolls were good, but needed to be heated. I sure wish we had a restaurant like this one near Daytona Beach where we live.

Love the ambiance, the diverse menu and connivant location. There are not many establishments in the area that offer Escargot yet this is one and they served it to perfection. Often it is common for people to travel to larger cities like Buffalo, Toronto and New York for such a diverse menu but Rochester is quite unique we really have it all.
Terrific food with a wide variety. This place is spotless! We had a late lunch there on a weekend. We made reservations but did not need them. There were 3 of us there. My wife and I had a tomato-based vegetable soup that was outstanding! We had the Salad Nicoise, the Chicken Crepes, and the Shrimp Stir Fry. We were all very happy with our meals. My Stir Fry has a tangy/spicy sauce that I had on the side. We all had dessert. The Lemon Torte and the Salted Carmel were the best of the 3, although they were all delicious. Even the coffee was great! Lori B was a waitress and she was a sweetheart. Total bill with tip was $100-very reasonable given the quality of the food.
I have made several trips to Phillips European over the years and have never been disappointed. Staff are always accommodating and the food is very good. Can’t think of any place with a better choice of desserts. Don’t believe any bad reviews.
Here is my review on the restaurant web site. Only addition is that my wife had the Chicken French, a local favorite perfected here. Spicy Mussels with Andouille Sausage has a nice kick to it, even though the description just says "hint of Cajun spice". We chose Phillips to get takeout, during the 2020 pandemic, from a fine-dining restaurant instead of more standard takeout are, and I chose the mussels and sausage because it's something we would never make at home. The fun of this sort of dish is to go fishing for the mussel meat that falls out of the shells into the broth, among the fettucine and vegetables. This is not overly spicy, but it is an adventurous dish. I finished up with the double chocolate fudge torte, and it was nice to be at home where we could take a break for a while before dessert.
