We walked in and asked if we could have a sample and one staff there said “no” without even looking at us. Guess he also felt the awkwardness in the air and he added “vanilla should taste like vanilla”.?

The inside of the store is different from the impression from the entrance, it is deep and there are many items for takeout.
There is no dining space inside the restaurant, so you can eat on chairs and tables along the road, but depending on the time of day there may not be enough space. I had to move around a bit to eat it, so it looks a little melted in the picture, but if it's a large one, it'll have a nice firm texture to it, as you can see in the other poster's pictures.
The taste is rich and delicious. Although the price was a little high, I thought it was worth the taste.
The customer service explained the products properly and was friendly. I felt like I could easily get a second helping.

Ice cream was good like any other. My daughter wanted to sample a flavor because that's what we do at ice cream shops (Bruster's, Abbotts, Netsin's, etc...). I bought 2 of their desserts to support a local business. My daughter went with a safe chocolate in case she might not like the flavor she wanted to sample. There are way too many good ice cream shops in Rochester for my daughter and I to ever come back here. This way we both can get a different flavor that we might like.

The location is what saves this place.
The peaches ice cream tasted like artificial milk and cream paired with the peach flavoring found in those peaches and cream oatmeal packets.
I woke up with an aching stomach.
This was to be my going away treat as I head off to grad school and my friend suggested something close. Now I wish I would have insisted on going where I originally wanted to go wish was to the glorious Oriens.
At Oriens each flavor is handcrafted and they are happy to have you sample the gelato which they make with pride.
I would not recommend Fairport Dairy to those of a discrminating palette. Do yourself and your family a favor and take the few extra minutes to drive to Oriens.
You won't regret it and the parking is much easier.

Great location on Park Ave which makes for a nice walk with some ice cream. I would’ve hoped for some indoor seating, as on hot days like today my ice cream melted the second I walked outside. Otherwise, it was pretty good and they had many flavors to choose from.

All their ice cream is homemade and excellent! It's definitely some of the best in the area. The only times I've really wanted to go somewhere else is when I wanted homemade gelato at Orien's Cafe in Greece or I had a craving for some Abbott's. They have a wonderful flavor selection, they use premium ingredients, and they have excellent customer service. There is no seating here but if you walk up the street a little ways there's an alley with fake turf and seats next to the barber shop.
