We were really disappointed with our visit. The food didn’t match our expectations in either taste or presentation, especially considering the high price point. The menu lacked clear descriptions, so we were surprised by what we received — and not in a good way.
The garlic bread was burnt and bitter. Almost every dish came overloaded with salad, including the grilled octopus (a very tiny portion) and the white fish, which was unexpectedly deep-fried in mostly batter and tasted off. If we had known that every main came with so much salad, we wouldn’t have ordered a separate salad appetizer.
The pasta was overly salty and lacked flavor. While the service was friendly, the overall dining experience just didn’t justify the price. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning.
Walked in host looked at us for like 5 mins didn’t say a word …I was like um..we need a table? We seemed unwelcome. There was plenty of seating available. He didn’t even respond so we just sat at the bar table then a rude lady server came up to me asking me do you have a reservation? I was like no we just dropped in do we need one? She was like no it’s not necessary. So then I said fine can you get me a menu? Bartender was nice at least. I ate a $24 dollar fish plate that came with wierd salad that was a bit disappointing in the quality and the fried fish was 80 % batter we also ordered Spaghetti and Peppers looked like a child’s plate when it came to the portion.
I wouldn’t recommend this place.
Awesome restaurant
Food is amazing. Sometimes the servers dont appear to want to be there. But the meal is always top notch. The Lombo Rocco is amazing!
Recommend everyone try this place out.
Friendly wait staff, great food
The appetizer was the standout at this restaurant, truly the only highlight. The pizza was average, and the lasagna was disappointing with no meat. The service was exceptional, and the table setup was charming, with a nice brick wall as a backdrop. However, the atmosphere was overwhelming—tables were packed too tightly, so you could hear every conversation around you. The loud, chaotic vibe made it unbearable. This isn’t a place I’d return to for a date. We ended up getting a much tastier pizza elsewhere, and the high prices here didn’t match the food or ambiance.
Great food, great service.

Amazing food and intimate atmosphere, as well as knowledgeable and friendly staff.
Parking: There were several spot immediately adjacent to the restaurant in a small parking lot, and plenty of open parking on the street. it was after 6 pm so it was free.

It’s really hard to view their menu online, but after finally locating what I believed to be the current menu, I ordered the lasagna for takeout. I was told the price, and was ok with nearly $27, for what I believed was a robust meaty lasagna. I can own not double-checking the ingredients, but lukewarm salty sauce, noodles and cheese at $26.94 is tantamount to daytime robbery. I got home and realized that it is meatless and extremely overpriced for an item that would’ve been rivaled by a Stouffer’s heat and eat. Disappointed is an understatement. I could never recommend this in good faith.

This was our first time coming to Rocco. We celebrated my husbands 30th birthday with our friends. When entering it was Small and Intimate which was very relaxing. We ordered pasta with red sauce, clams in white wine sauce, and 2 pizzas. Our food came out quite quick and paired with excellent drink options provided by our server. One of the Pizza's we sadly didn't like just per our friends pickiness not because it wasn't good but it just wasn't what he wanted. NOW let me tell you...WITHOUT having to say a single thing to the waiter he took it upon himself to ask the chef to make another pizza for which he believed that our friend would like and brought it straight to our table. And boy did he hit the nail on the head because our friend devoured that pizza!! All the rest of our food was top notch! This place prides themselves with excellent service, food, and hospitality. I would recommend this place to everyone! Great job!! We definitely will be back!

My Husband and I was craving authentic Italian on a Thursday night. He google Italian place near us and came across Rocco. The location was very convenient from downtown Rochester. From the minute we entered the restaurant we received a nice welcome from the people at the bar and host. The food, was excellent and our server Brian was very knowledgeable of the food and drink choices on the menu. The overall experience was amazing and will be returning back soon.
