This place is extremely overrated. the food was very bland and way to expensive for what you get. The fish had no seasoning and taste like nothing. the steak was ordered to medium, but was received blue rare, how do you not know how to cook steak?. The sausages and grits was very drab and only came with 2 tiny Vienna sausages. They had the audacity to charge us for bread, which I thought was complementary. if you like bland French food, then this is your spot, otherwise try another restaurant in the area. i don't normally leave reviews, but it needs to be known that this place is hot garbage.

I love coming here solo & sitting at the bar for dinner or brunch. Staff is welcoming, and drinks are always delicious.

Four of us dined here on a recent Friday night, the food was all very good but we all left a bit hungry & puzzled. The place was very busy maybe too busy, our wait for everything was long, cocktails were great when they finally arrived. Interestingly our server who was great warned us the kitchen was busy and suggested we order all at once which we did 3 apps, 4 entrees & 2 desserts. We enjoyed all the food but were left a bit unsatisfied...odd experience!

One of our favorite places in Rochester. Pricier but oh, SO worth it. Food amazing, service impeccable. Cozy atmosphere. Hard to find that combination anymore.

We came here for brunch and unfortunately had a disappointing experience. Our food took over 40 minutes to arrive, and two out of three dishes were cold. I ordered the Shakshuka, which came with what seemed like half an egg in tomato sauce and little flavor. When I asked the waiter, he wasn't sure if it only came with one egg and offered to bring another — which took another 40 minutes. By that time, my dish was completely cold.

Although the waiter offered to reheat it, it was still served cold again. In total, I waited about an hour and a half while everyone else had already finished eating. When I explained that I no longer wanted the extra egg due to the long wait, I was still charged $6 for two extra eggs (although he said he would bring one). When I went to ask why there were 2 eggs charged he replied by saying ''I am not taking anything off the bill''. I must say, one of the eggs was later removed from the bill though in a rather ironic manner. Our cappuccino and latte also arrived cold.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but the service was extremely slow and the waiter handled the situation unprofessionally. If the waiter had handled the situation better I wouldn't had left this review, however professionalism is key when working in customer service.

Although our server was very personable, I wonder if the restaurant was understaffed last night. By the time we got the promised aioli and ketchup for our fries, they were cold and limp. Waited too long for beverages. Not a deal breaker but not perfect. Food was excellent.

In the past several years of travel I have not had a better overall experience then I had tonight at Roux. Rach (forgive me if I spelled wrong) was exceptional. Her expertise as a mixologist was next level. I started with one of the most balanced Negronis I’ve ever had and then the experience took off from there. Truffles Caesar salad was spot on and the mussels executed perfectly. Picpoul de Pinet and white Burgundy to compliment dinner followed by a well executed custard dessert and cocktails. If your in Rochester and pass up this gem, you’re missing out!!
