This spot is a hidden jewel. I swear my left toe that it has some of the best chicken wings and fish. I love the fish, I had to go for seconds. Imagine fresh caught haddock with perfectly seasoned flour and cornmeal for coating the fish and it comes with delicious sauce served on a buttery bread. The meat is so juicy and tender it melts in your mouth. This is a black owned bar for those who get nervous around black people. It's a safe environment. I strongly recommend going between the hours 6-9p.m. If you drink sit down at the bar and enjoy friendly people, listen to the jukebox and have some delicious haddock. If you are not there to party leave before the 10 p.m. crowd arrives. The Best Fish in Rochester NY.Parking: Lots of free parking.

I've been there a few times, but I haven't been there in years cause the music is lousy and so is the service, the last time I was there the DJ spent more time talking to the unattractive females than he played music and I ended up leaving.

Super Friendly environment. It's got that neighborhood bar feel with soul food. I will start with what some people would consider the worst part. The place is dated. It looks like something out of a 70's Blaxploitation movie. And the men's bathroom needs some help. I have never asked my female friends how the woman's room is but they have never said I don't want to go back cus of the bathroom. But to be fair, NO ONE goes for the ambiance, cus ITS A VIBE!!! First the Crowd: There is a mix of youngins and old heads. Everyone is friendly and I have never seen a altercation in the place. There is no real dress code, so it will go from jogging suits to city-girl party dresses.The Bar: The ladies behind the bar have a lot of personality and are great. I will warn you, them drinks only have a splash of mixer so if you ain't about that life ask of extra mixer. Drinks are mad cheap, but I am from Brooklyn so fact that in my optionThe DJ: He is cool, has a great selection of music but if you are not into trap come early leave earlyThe Food: That is the reason I travel the 90 mins from Syracuse. Everything I have had was on-point. The portions are good size and it's all well seasoned. You can't go wrong with the staples (Fried wings, Mac or Potato Salad or the greens) The candied yams and green beans are ok. The only negative is sometimes the food takes a little long but that is because they are filling so many orders!As a part-time DJ, this is a spot I would love to have a residency in.
