Absolute gem of a restaurant. My wife and I have been here ~7 times since mid summer when we discovered it, and have only had great experiences. We typically share 3-4 appetizers and/or one of the specials, and every time leave so satisfied. The vibe at the bar is also lovely and the specialty drinks were great (Manhattan & espresso martini are the go to). Highly recommend this place

The cod special was amazing, I consider myself a good cook and could never produce a dish that on point. Wow. I don’t like vegetables and I ate the whole plate.

Didn't care for the food. Fries and Pork Belly burnt ends were excellent. Drink and Juicy Pork Chop wasnt great, wasnt bad either. Just different and wouldn't try again. Other folks in my group all tried something different and had the same experience. I'd skip next time.

So many reasons we enjoyed our evening. First is that I just felt happy the entire time. The atmosphere is quaint, modern, open, and comfortable. It was not too loud but we ate early so not completely full yet. The staff were exceptionally nice in all areas. We started with what they call shared dishes and chose the caesar salad which was amazing. Enough for two and they kindly put it on two plates. It was understated meaning it had the exact correct amount of dressing/good quality cheese and kale along with romain with no bitter taste. It was simply delightful! We then split the eggplant meatballs with the added penne. It was unique and the tomato sauce was a cut above with fresh tomatoes blended to the perfect consistency and taste. The prices were reasonable - more reasonable than other places giving options to choose for your price range. I like that they are thoughtful about having non meat items as well. I highly recommend. I still remember having my 40th birthday party upstairs when it was the Rio Bamba years back. You will not be dissapointed. Top notch.

We had a 6 PM dinner reservation on a Wednesday evening. There was no line though most of the tables were taken. They have their own parking lot. It was just adequate for a weekday night.
The restaurant is loud. Sound bounces off the walls. There was a large party next to us that was separated by a room divider.
I paid $28 for a small piece of Faroe Island salmon over lemon cream The salmon was delicious. I had to pay an additional $14 for crispy roasted potatoes over a gremalata sauce. They were very good too. The potatoes, however, were served well before my salmon and the waitress knew I wanted it with my dinner. My friends, however, enjoyed the potatoes as it took quite a while before we were served dinner.
I left hungry after having a dinner that cost too much. Fortunately, my wife had made chicken soup, and that was really good!
The restaurant has the potential to be a very good dining experience. It's just not there yet.

So, been a big fan of this location and the previous restaurants here, but the Alexander continues to disappoint. The food is inconsistent, the servers the same and the bar tender ladies are absolutely obnoxious. For an establishment that should be welcoming folks, they treat people like they are a burden and can’t wait till the evening is over. Why even work there if that’s the case? What’s crazy is that this group runs Vern’s, a masterclass in what makes a restaurant special. Maybe this restaurant can learn something from them.

My only issue is they added a 3% service fee for using a credit card. This is a NY issue. Other states do not do this. They simply raised the price of the food. Apparently NY isn't very good at math. 3% of $10 is $.30. A $20 entree would cost $20.60. So round up to $21. You will make more money, but most importantly your wait staff won't get stiffed. You are paying way too much in school tax when your business owners can't figure this out. You may want to think twice before voting yes for your school budget. Trust me you are not getting a bang for your buck. Just go out west and you'll see.

The food was delish. Eggplant meatballs outstanding. Our server was delightful. Parking stinks. There was an event so their lot was overflowing and no street parking available on a Thurs Eve. Valet would be awesome. Loud during event but quieted down when ended.
