My friend and I decided to try this restaurant one Saturday morning while visiting. The wait was 45 minutes with very little seating so they text you when table was ready.
The food was very plain and nothing special. It tastes like plain breakfast. The breakfast is better at Cracker Barrel.
They have overpriced baked goods that didn’t look fresh. They could also make renovations because it’s a very old home and feels clammy during winter especially when raining. Just need to invest in upkeep.
You can go buy lower expectations because I didn’t enjoy the food and was not impressed BUT the service was excellent!

Our second time coming to the Mad Hatter Restaurant and Bakery. This time we came with our four granddaughters. This is a good choice as our granddaughters like vegetarian food and gluten-free options. This is a unique local restaurant you feel like you’re going down a rabbit hole with Alice. Limited parking which is why we walked from the George Eastman Museum which we just visited. I highly recommend the Mad Hatter if you’re in the city.

First time and the food was very good and service was amazing. Suggestion to add a tea party option where a large pot of tea can be shared with the party.

It takes forever to get seated. We waited an hour. Don't go on a Sunday morning.

Totally overrated for the terrible service and cold food. Don't bother!
We placed a to-go order, it was our first time trying this place and I don't think we will be back as there is not a single thing we ordered that I would recommend. The eggs on the Alice eggs benedict was overcooked, and there was barely any hollandaise. The Mad Hatter eggs benedict managed to be over and undercooked, and barely had any hollandaise..and to be honest The Mad Hatter eggs benedict was just gross. The strawberry with the french toast was all wilted and old. The look of the to go orders were just shocking, disappointing and really showed a lack of care. Maybe the issue was that we ordered it to go, but the quality and care should be the same across the board.

Great breakfast. Many options for sweet treats. Good options available for vegetarian diet, and their tea is good. I recommend this place for a special breakfast occasion here in Rochester. Definitely not your typical diner food! It’s great quality and servers seem happy to be there.
