TRATA: The Restaurant At The Armory

Super nice place! Excellent food, less $ than I thought...2 excellent burgers with a side, 2 glasses of wine was $58. I had the wagyu burger, melt in your mouth, good seasoning (little heavy on salt but not bad) and the cook was perfect med rare. My wife had the smash burger and hers was very good as well, huge salad came with hers. Waitstaff was attentive and nice! We ate on the outdoor deck on probably the last night for the season. It was worth it! Very good atmosphere out there!

I had a truly disappointing experience at TRATA. The fries were stale and gross, and the pasta was mushy. When I mentioned the fries to our waiter, she didn’t bother addressing it.

To make things worse, we were told that our group of six couldn’t split the check, even though everyone ordered at different times. The waiter made snide comments like, “That’s why you should bring cash or Venmo out.”

There was no disclaimer on the menu about large parties, nor was this communicated when our orders were taken. The waiter, who claimed to be an hourly manager, was unprofessional and even snappy towards a food runner trying to help her serve our meals. Instead of resolving our issue directly, she had another random waiter do it, which was beyond frustrating.

As someone with experience in top restaurants in Rochester, I can confidently say this place is poorly managed. They attempted to manipulate our bill to include an automatic 20% tip, which we didn’t agree to. They also absurdly stated that a party of eight was “extremely large,” despite the fact that many places can accommodate larger groups easily.

Ironically was trying to show some international friends a nice American restaurant but I think Applebees would’ve did them more justice

Overall, I was disgusted by the service and will not be returning. Save your time and money!

Place was big and clean. Bartender was great, she even served us when we moved to a table because the bar area was so cold.

My fiancé and I decided to give this place a try on our 4 year anniversary, and already decided we won't be coming back. We both ordered the Waygu burger with high hopes but ended up very disappointed. A good chef knows that you need to season a burger with salt, at the bare minimum and there was zero seasoning on this burger. When you season a burger with salt, it brings out the flavor of the beef, and there was no flavor. The fries also were not salted and there was no salt on the table to even put on the fries. We were not once asked how it tasted, nor questioned if I liked it after seeing my plate completely full and untouched while visiting our table multiple times.

Great place with great and friendly staff. Duck quesadilla was good. Their waygu burger and normal burgers are not good They're perfectly cooked but lack any seasoning or flavor, just warm mush when you bite. The bottom bun is completely soaked when it gets to you and if it wasn't for the sauce I would have asked for something else. The fries also have no seasoning, not even salt so they're extremely bland, i would recommend a different oil for the fries so it carries some flavor. Salt makes patrons order more drinks so I'm surprised they don't use any at all. I would go back but it's not gonna be my plans to go.

Horrible service ruined what could’ve been a wonderful date night. My partner (black) and myself (Hispanic) were walked across the whole restaurant passing many empty tables to be seated in a far corner which was filled with what seemed like all the minorities in the restaurant. The waitress was cold, short, and neglectful. We both only ordered water and still struggled to even find her to flag her down for refills.

When the place gets busy during dinner, it was difficult to hear what others say at the table. As a result, talking loudly is recommended. The appetizers, main dish and dessert are delicious.

The place looks really cool, very industrial and warm. Our waitress was wonderful and made sure that our food was good, I got the Wagyu burger and it was tasty, I recommend.

Had dinner there recently as part of a group party. The interior design is pretty neat, it's multilevel, and you can view other levels from where you're sitting if you're on an upper floor. I thought the drinks were good and friendly.

The service was pretty decent at first. However as the night went on, the service completely fell apart. Our group was waiting on the dessert for literally over half hour with no updates, the waiter said the kitchen was busy. The people leading our party went downstairs to inquire several times, told us the place didn't actually seem that busy or crowded by that time. Finally people in our group started to leave, and the dessert arrived after most people had left, almost an hour after it had been ordered. Unfortunately will not be checking out this restaurant again.

The ambiance here is very cool with a modern industrial vibe. There's outdoor seating for dine-in. The service is slow and could have used another server. The smashburger is cooked well done and had good flavor with their sauce. The fries are also nice and crispy.

Great food and hospitality. It’s a little loud, so conversation was just a tiny bit difficult (we had a big group so it was hard to hear from one end of the table to the other-but only noting that so people know. It was a great experience!
