This was an old school diner for sure. The breakfast had its good points and iffy points. Eggs were perfect. Hash browns ordered crispy, but came out not crispy and on the verge of cold. Toast was not toasted for more than a few seconds. That said the food came out crazy fast.... once I ordered and got my food I didn't see the waitress for a while. Ended up finishing my food and drink and after 10 minutes left the check and money at the register so I could leave......

Nice place good fries and burgers(that's all i get the 2'xs that I've gone there) only thing is u can tell that this place is closed up(windows) alot ot has a dusty smell to it. It needs a real DEEP cleaning, u can tell they dont deep clean. The lafies in there beeds to close down one day and wipe the walls down with pinseol, wipe down the dusty window seals, the vases and other decorations(they all has dust on them(i look rverytime I ho there) and once a month open all the windows/doors to allow very fresh air in. Other than that its a nice place to eat.

An old friend put me on to uncle Danny’s about 15 years ago. He said, bro, you gotta try the eggs Chad. It was an instant love affair.
Since then, I’ve been obsessed with various Benedict’s wherever I can find them. From Montreal to Lisbon, I’ve tried maybe 100 Benedict’s at least.
So far, the best one was in Montreal. But that makes sense. The French invented hollandaise. So it makes sense that the Quebequois would master it.
And yet, somehow, some way, a humble spot in Rochester, NY still has the second best hollandaise I’ve ever had over the past 15+ years.
Even cooler, the same server who helped us 15 years ago, and dozens of times after, was the same server who helped us recently. The vibe I enjoyed 15 years ago was the same vibe I experienced recently.
At this point, Uncle Danny’s needs to be revered as a Rochester institution. Similar to the garbage plate. Or zweigles. I wish more people knew about them. But also, they seem to doing just fine.
Allllll that to say, after over a decade, this place still has an absolutely amazing Benedict. And I have to specify, go for the eggs chad version (unless you hate sausage patties).
Nothing but love and admiration on my end. Every time I go back to visit Rochester, I MUST visit uncle Danny’s.

Had a very nice breakfast this morning while I waited for my vehicle to be done across the street. I asked the waitress if ok if I stayed while I waited. She was very kind and courteous. Quick to get me coffee and take my order. My food also came quickly and it was plated very nicely AND it was hot! Love their thick sour dough toast.
The restaurant had a very pleasant atmosphere. Very clean and homey
