Valentino's was a highlight of our trip to Rochester! We were in the neighborhood and decided to give the food a try based on the good reviews, and it did not disappoint. There were so many choices, and the flavors were amazing. The whole family loved it. I was especially impressed with the pork! It was tender and juicy and didn't dry out, even when we reheated it later in the day. The portions were generous which gave us some leftovers for later in the day. And the owners were so kind. We dined-in and had the pleasure of chatting with them throughout our meal. We truly enjoyed ourselves and would come back anytime we are in town.

The person who takes the orders, at least on my visit, did his best to understand Spanish but it is not his forte. The place, since it is not closed, is full of flies and bees, which is normal since the doors are not closed, but the staff tries at all costs to ensure that they are not touching the food, so even though the food is already ready and the intention is to see and organize what is in the display cases because it is not so accessible since they all have lids, thus preventing the honeycomb of flies from stopping, at least that is what you see! Where it is ordered from because you cannot see what the kitchen is like as such.The food, the stuffing looks like it's going to be crunchy but it's not and it was cold it wasn't bad 8.5 out of 10 but it was cold. I also ordered a large order of rice together and pork leg with stewed beans, everything was very hot and tasted 8 out of 10.Would I go back? Maybe yes, the charge for using a card to pay discourages me, who carries cash? Besides that it was a surprise because the cashier didn't mention it, and yes it's a trick but it's my trick.

This restaurant is quite the gem in the heart of the city. The food is to die for. I’ve never ate anything that I didn’t like. My favorite is the pulpo (octopus) salad. They also do catering for private events with reasonable prices. This is not your average mom and pops restaurant I promise you will not be disappointed.
