Great restaurant!! The food and drinks were too shelf. Shane the bartender was awesome and made a killer black Manhattan!!! The SFG sushi was delicious too. Great atmosphere and excellent service!

We decided to try this place and I ordered the special (red snapper) and when it came out it was only a piece of fish on a plate. I have no qualms about spending money on a good meal but for a $40 meal it should have had some rice or vegetables on the side or something. All in all it was $160 for a piece of fish, one roll, and two drinks each and then we had to go somewhere else afterwards because we were both still hungry.

Loved every minute of it. Cocktails (shark bait was my favorite) were next level and the seafood was fresh in everything we ordered. Tuna sashimi, oysters, warm sushi roll w king crab and lobster, the dover sole. We will be back very soon.

The food was incredible. The staff were all excellent and timely when needed. They never made us feel rushed (well over 2 hours stay). Music was spot on and the acoustics were great and we never felt like we had to yell nor couldn't hear one another.

Friendly bartenders and our waitress was adorable and sweet. Roc city roll was delicious and perfectly named. Drinks were yummy too. Perfect spot for our date night. I can see coming here with girlfriends too and having a whale of a time. Unassumingly sophisticated and will dine here again for sure.

Recently had the pleasure of dinning at Velvet Belly. The service was incredible. The general manager, Doug, went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful time. The appetizers were incredible- especially the calamari and smoked whitefish croquettes. Each cocktail we had were not only unique, they were perfectly balanced, and extremely well executed- the matcha made in heaven and shark bait were our favorites.The atmosphere is sophisticated, clean, and low-key upscale. Hands down, one of the top dinning experiences in Rochester.
First visit was on New Year’s Eve - 6:30pm and was able to get 6 bar stools at the large bar - very comfortable seating and a wide bar - great for eating - excellent service from the bartenders - great atmosphere - large booths for dining - didn’t eat but will go back
