El Sombrero Restaurant Tex Mex Bar & Grill

Manager/owner is top tier! Went there 2x within the last 72 hours. Food was magnificent, service was even better. Prices are more than fair and affordable. Highly recommended!!!

This was my second time at the white lake location, and it was amazing! Our server jaime was awesome and very attentive, made sure we had everything as well as making sure we were happy with our food! We had gotten the sampler for two and definitely worth the price! Was very good and atmosphere was great.

I usually don’t feel a need to write a review, but my husband and I came in yesterday to get some dinner. Although it was busy, our server Jada still made sure to be attentive and kind, she made time to talk and joke around. The teamwork in that place is so wonderful. Amanda, the other server brought over our drinks while jada was busy and asked if we needed anything else. Overall we had a great experience and highly recommend going in just to see Jada and Amanda.

Up here for work and had a nice man recommend coming here. I had the salmon and mash with green beans, this is a classic meal my mother makes but usually Caesar salad instead of green beans. I don’t love green beans but these were the best I’ve ever had. Salmon and mash were great as well. (Not sure how Texan or Mexican this dish is tho haha). Got to meet the kind owner and his beautiful wife who was hosting. May never be back in the area, but if I am I am sure to swing back in! Spicy Marg was great as well! Thank you!!

Placed an order for pickup the other day. The man on the phone was extremely rude. We had an allergy to something in the food and he told me without even hesitation NO food is already made we can’t change it. Before I could finish speaking, I asked about the dessert without even checking he told me no they don’t have it. Then when I was done placing my order before I could ask how much it was or how long it would take, he hung up the phone. We used to come here often. Safe to say we will not be coming back. Also the portion sizes changed SIGNIFICANTLY. Looks like they stopped caring after opening their second location

nice restaurant and bar. great food and drinks. lots of vegetarian options and anything can be vegan by telling them no cheese or sour cream and add veggies or beans

We live in Houston and have eaten in countless Tex Mex restaurants. So, in the foothills to the Catskills of New York, we entered El Sombrero Tex Mex without high expectations. We were wrong. It started with the chips and salsa--unlike anything we've had. The salmon soup was true surprise, so too was the shrimp burrito. Not like any Tex Mex we have had. Great food? Yes with excellent service.

Celebrated my daughter's 19th birthday

Service was great but food was mediocre. Ordered skirt steak fajitas and it definitely wasn't skirt steak.

Visiting the Catskills area, we came across El Sombrero through its reviews and decided to make the 35-minute drive and wow, it was absolutely worth it.

From the moment we walked in, everything felt welcoming. The ambiance was warm, the staff was gracious and attentive, and the fresh chips and salsa were a great start to the meal. The food itself was outstanding, flavorful, fresh, and beautifully prepared.

What really made the experience special was the owner, Luis, personally stopping by every table to make sure everyone was enjoying themselves. We had a wonderful chat with him, and to top it all off, he surprised us with a delicious crème brûlée on the house.

Great food, great service, and a place that genuinely cares about its guests. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the Catskills area.

My son Johnathan took me to El Sombrerro with my daughter in law and grandbabies. The environment is amazing. The owner Luis, made us feel welcomed as if we were family. The server's are extremely friendly and kind. The food is delicious and the prices are great. Overall, the experience have been beyond great and amazing every time we have come here. Great family feel. I Highly recommend this place.
