Came down to the neighborhood by myself to check it out solo to try that Pina colada slushie and didn't even realize it was the last night of the season. Im from rural Ontario and this spot felt like a mix between a small town dive bar and a beach bar! From the beginning felt welcomed in the establishment, bouncer is a good guy. Then the bartenders were both great and from what I can tell they remember their regulars which is how a neighborhood bar should be and they do it right. Good, pretty diverse crowd that the place attracts and I talked to some awesome people and hopefully will be back for reopening next year! Cheers to another season you guys are doing it right!

Super loud but great service.
Quintessential dive bar half a block from the Rockaway beach! Famed for their Frozen Piña Coladas and rightly so; perfect after a day at the beach! They feature a spiced Castillo rum floater, but the pro move is a Myer’s Dark floater for the same $; nothing better than dark rum in a Piña Colada for my money.

A Rockaway institution
Freshly pulled frozen piña colada to go – excellent. Friendly/polite bartender as well.
There’s something about the salty air, sun-kissed skin, and sandy feet that makes a Connelly’s piña colada hit just right. Creamy, icy, and deceptively strong - especially with the rum floater (a must)—it might just be the best piña colada I’ve ever had. Pro tip: save the maraschino cherry for the end. Trust me.
Downstairs feels like a time-warped beach basement, dark and a little dank in the best way. But there’s also a patio bar if you want to soak up more sun. Either way, you lose track of time.
You didn’t really do Rockaway if you didn’t end up at Connelly’s.

Stumbled upon this lovely pub on a trip to the beach. Barman was so hospitable and chatty making us feel welcome.
The ice Pina Colada was great as was the selection of beers.
Will be back next time we visit NYC

I just come here for DJ Julie and the pina coladas!
2 swimmer shot piña rocked my world
Very nice outdoor space, where you can listen to live music and smell the ocean. Predominantly white and friendly crowd. I don't know if the bar has food, but there was a guy in a lot with a grill a couple doors down who was selling burgers the night we went. I got one, and it was good.
Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessibility might be an issue--you have to go down some steps to enter, and the bathrooms were up some steps in the back of the bar. I didn't see any ramps. A wheelchair could get into the outdoor space, though.

Lots of drunk loud people.....typical bar, greasy floors, spilled beer perfumes the air inside, not fancy at all, but, if you''re just looking to get drunk at the local...this is not a bad spot.
