“We need our burger fix every time we go to Rockaway! Burgers, hotdogs, fries, ice cream, and drinks are fantastic! Try the Hardbody, aka double cheeseburger! You won't be disappointed! I went yesterday 9/5/26, and their burgers, fries, and drinks were still spot on! The Hardbody was delicious! The beach juice drink is crazy good, I could easily knock back 3! Keep it up Ripper's!”

“I came here today to eat. I am the only black girl in this restaurant and it was so great at first I was kinda nervous cause the atmosphere was like OK hopefully somebody serviced me, but there was a nice man here he’s in the front. He was the first person to notice me and greet me and he was very kind very sweet. He took his time with me. I just wish that the women were a little bit more nicer and inviting you never know who might come into your spot whether they’re black white or whatever you should acknowledge them even if it’s a poly Peruvian restaurant you should want to encourage all racist to come because money is money services service and food is food, but I did love the food and I love my time”

“Great take on Lu rou fan (minced pork and rice), excellent scallion pancakes and awesome dessert (Tian miantuan) that was like a sandwich of sweet fried dough, golden sesame ice cream and condensed milk (plus cilantro and butter dried peanuts)! Great beverages as well such as the slightly sweetened Jasmine iced tea and Sanzo (lychee & calamansi) sparkling water products!”

Some dishes did fall a bit flat (specifically a fish dish that needed a bit more acid to balance it out & desert was a bit underwhelming), but the standouts really stood out to make this a meal worth coming back to. A personal favorite was the Dashi presentation in a wine glass & incredible wagyu beef. Excited to try their next menu!”

“I traveled all the way from Upper West Side because a friend suggested it, and it was absolutely worth it!!! I loved the atmosphere, the restaurant, the wine list, and the food! I highly recommend trying the fagioli all’uccelletto, and don’t miss their pastas, we had a phenomenal cacio e pepe, and the cotoletta alla bolognese was truly amazing. Food is so authentic and spontaneous!!! We shared a bottle of their Poderi Melini Chianti Classico, which was perfect with our food and was recommended to us by Jacopo, in his typical Tuscanian accent. I’ll definitely be back! Ridgewood has a great Italian spot. What a discovery!”

“The space is configured like a film set: you are in some backwater honkytonk in a remote outpost in Thailand in the 70’s. Psychedelic Thai music along with some disco blares loudly beneath the flickering lights, corrugated metal awnings, advertisements for beer, Fanta, god-knows-what hair care products — it actually looks like a sort of Thai bodega. Leaning forward from your antique movie theatre seat and peering into the downstairs you see large glass jars illuminated with red light. Some Mephistophelian herbal concoctions. On a large screen plays some grainy indifferent Bruce Lee knockoff from the 70’s. You get the picture….”

My daughter took me to Margie’s for my birthday, and we had such a wonderful experience! The food was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was warm, upbeat, and full of great energy.

A special shoutout to our waitress, Carla, who made the experience even better! She was friendly, welcoming, attentive, and made sure our meals came out in a timely manner. Her energy was amazing, and she truly made us feel taken care of.

“Neighborhood gem. Great decor, homey, comfortable but well appointed. I have dined here alone and with family, both times it was a good atmosphere. GM Michael is really good and runs a good staff. The food is delicious- good for all types of diet restrictions. Fresh ingredients well prepared. Last but not least also great cocktails. Host and server were friendly and attentive. I will for sure be coming back here!”

“this would be a great restaurant outside of nyc but after eating here makes sense why it was almost empty at 7:30 on a friday night. first, for some reason the AC was off on a summer night, it was so hot! at one point our server kind of went AWOL for like ten minutes after we said we needed a second to decide but i guess it happens and we were able to get someone else’s attention. A few notes on the food: the fluke crudo has a great sauce but you must slice the fish, you cannot just serve a raw filet of fish. the sauce doesn’t get to it and it is hard to slice raw fish while eating. cut the fish! the chicken entree was good but it was overcooked which shouldn’t be an issue with heavily breaded chicken. the poached hake was not cooked enough. the sticky rice dessert was really just rice pudding but was outstanding and the drink selection was very good.”
