Excellent Italian food, very good service, all at a reasonable price. One of my favorite restaurants in Rome. Plenty of off street parking.
Food is great, service was pretty good. Everything is made on location, even bread & desserts. Best restaurant in Rome, easily. I had a "lobster tail" for dessert (flaky pastry in shape of lobster tail filled with chocolate mousse). It was off-the-charts-GREAT. Go! Prices are very decent, food is great.
Love it here. Was introduced the last time I came out for work. Excellent service. Wonderful Italian food. Tonight I dined alone because last trip here with coworkers made it memorable. Will definitely be back. Tonight I had the lentil soup and the eggplant parmigiana both were delicious and plenty of dinner left for lunch tomorrow. Of course a chocolate cannoli for the road.
We had a reservation for 6:00 PM and were seated at 5:50. The waiter took our order a few minutes after 6:00. We waited till 7:10 to be served. We only had a basic pasta dish and grilled chicken salad. Our friends had a pasta dish and a burger. Nothing different or time consuming to make. We ended up taking the dinners home after a few bites. We had a concert to attend. We couldn’t find the waiter and even ask another one for the location of ours. We ended up getting our own container to box up our dinner. This is not the norm for the Franklin. We were very disappointed on the service and food delivery.

Always a favorite when in Rome, Rome, NY, that is. Excellent, creepy, ghost filled hotel with all kinds of character.

My husband and I drove out to Franklin hotel from New Hartford on 3/1/25 for lunch because the food and pricing are great. However when we arrived we were seated at a table right in the main dining area and sat there for 17 minutes while the waitresses walked back and forth past us without any acknowledgement. Nothing for 17 minutes and they weren't that busy - and everyone else was being served. Needless to say we got up and left. Very disappointed and won't be going back any time soon.

Went to dinner tonight, dinner was just so so but we had placed an order for Italian cookies and pastries, placed the order a week before.when we went to pay they could not find the order and when it became obvious they didn’t put the order together they started to use the cookies in the display case and they didn’t look the freshest and we accepted things happen but when they brought up the pastries you could tell someone had just thrown them together. The cream was all over and when I looked at the woman behind the counter she turned and walked away with out a word not a sorry for making us wait an extra 30 minutes nothing so I do not recommend the restaurant at all I spent 200 dollars that day between our dinner and the cookies and pastries. My husband was so mad he went and weighed the cookies and they were a half pound light We weren’t a weekly customer but did eat there occasionally but never again that woman behind the counter needs to be fired while we were waiting she was rude to numerous other people not the way to run a restaurant

Sadly, after having eaten here for years, I had a terrible dining experience this evening and may never eat here again. Things have changed since the previous owner passed away.
After waiting several minutes to be seated and waiting several minutes longer to place our order, we began the very long 90 minutes until our meal was served. At that point, we packed the food ourselves to take out. I can only rate the appetizers.
Although the manager comped our meal, this has left a bad taste in my mouth. The atmosphere was chaotic and definitely not conducive to a pleasant evening meal. Very disappointed!!
Mary - As I am sure that you understand, I was simply expressing my perspective of that evening’s dining experience. I certainly cannot speak to how the other diners experienced their visits. As I mentioned, I have been a long time customer. Your food is excellent. I have obviously offended you deeply. For that, I apologize.

Hit or miss on service. Best to go when they are not super busy, as they may forget they sat you. Food is traditional Italian. Bakery portion is great to grab and go
