Fantastic place I work right across the street in the Station Yards, At the pink fin and I come here a couple times a week and grab a milkshake and maybe a burger and whatever else and everything is always made to perfection. It’s a great food and the milkshakes are amazing. I’d rather go here and go to Carvel or Baskin-Robbins Mr. toasted s’mores one that’s great. They put the little marshmallows on the top and this is an overall amazing place right next to the train station Great staff and everything. I definitely would recommend anybody looking for a nice little quiet Burger shop

I rarely leave reviews, but I was so disappointed with this place that I felt compelled to do so this time. After checking the reviews I was quite shocked to see all the positive ones, given my meal quality. Especially for a place like this in NY. This was my first time trying this place, and it will be my last.
To start, the staff was very friendly and the place seemed decently clean, so no issues there. The problem was the food. Wow, no nice way to put it, but it was terrible. I had the standard hamburger and a hot dog with mustard and sauerkraut. That’s it, and both were shockingly disappointing. Hamburger was incredibly bland, tasted like boiled meat with no seasoning(probably steamed like White Castle, the worst of the fast food burgers) with a mushy, soggy bun. The only “taste” was from the high amount of chopped onion, which did nothing to help the burger. And chopped pickles? Really? Who puts chopped pickles on a burger? Easily one of the worst burgers I’ve ever had.
Then, the hotdog. It was not all beef and had that awful crunchy skin, and it tasted bland. Terrible combination with the gross crunchy texture of the skin. With again, a soggy, mushy bun. How is it consistently that bad? Probably the worst hotdog I’ve ever had. Would have rather eaten a bowl of sauerkraut. It’s probably what the cheapest great value or similar brand crap hotdog you could buy from the supermarket is like.
Overall, even though it is “relatively”inexpensive, it is absolutely not worth it. They have the advantage of being right next to train station, getting business from people in a hurry, like I was. That is part of why I made this review, to inform others in my position to avoid this place and not make the same unlucky mistake I did.

Box Car Burgers …. Pleasantly surprised at my visit to Box Car Burgers today Aug25. Not sure if I wanted their Chicken sandwich called the Third Rail or the Burger called The Runaway so i tried them both! Both were really really good, loaded with Bacon, Onion rings, and Cheese on soft Martin buns. Had to try their fries too. They were very tasty. Box Car Burgers is across the street from Station Yards right on RR Ave so easy in/out a well. Let me not forget the super cheap prices here, about $7 for each sandwich. This is now a regular foodie stop for us. 5*****+ Tom Holbrook.

Great food and prices for sure but the service is impeccable. I grab a double burger and a shake from here sometimes with less than 10min before my train comes and they ALWAYS make sure to get it to me on time. I let the person taking my order know “hey you think you could get this to me before my ___ o’clock train?” and they pay attention and get it for me. Everyone looks happy doing their job too. Again the food is great but it feels especially good buying from a place that’s running a tight ship.

I just door dashed my first ever Boxcar Burger, and let me tell ya… this was something different!… but in a familiar way? DoorDash allowed me to select my meal w no bun and no ketchup, a staple in any Keto person’s life, and wo those 2 essential ingredients for what make burgers so special, I can still say this is THEE best local burger you can get at such fast speeds! The diced pickles need to just be in my life everyday now, and I’m sad because I don’t think I have the discipline to dice pickles everyday of my life. Shall I find out?
