My family and I went to IHOP this weekend very early in the morning. We had the absolute pleasure of having a server named David A. He was absolutely phenomenal. He was by far the best waiter I’ve had in a very long time especially at IHOP. He was kind helpful and truly gave us an incredible experience. I’ve been to a lot of places and I truly very rarely leave reviews and I could not help but review him myself. He truly deserves to be taken care of by the IHOP corporation. Truly, I believe he should train other staff members.

We visited the day after Christmas and had the pleasure of being served by Colleen. From the moment we sat down, she went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and at home. Even though the kitchen ran into a few hiccups—they were out of freshly squeezed OJ and diced potatoes—Colleen didn't miss a beat. She handled the challenges with such grace and worked quickly to find delicious substitutions that we actually loved. We left feeling completely satisfied and well-taken care of. Colleen’s professionalism and kindness made our holiday outing special!

I visited the IHOP in Ronkonkoma about two weeks ago for a breakfast with a party of three. This location continues to deliver exactly what keeps people coming back: consistently excellent pancakes. In my opinion, they remain the best you’ll find anywhere, and that alone is the primary reason I still make the occasional visit.
That said, the overall dining experience is hit-or-miss. The restaurant is always crowded on weekends, with long lines and extended wait times that can test your patience before you even get a table. Once seated, service tends to be slow — not unfriendly, just stretched thin and nothing particularly memorable. Staff does their job, but you don’t get the sense of efficiency or attentiveness you might expect during peak hours.
Food-wise, the breakfast staples — pancakes, eggs, home fries, coffee, and juice — arrived as expected. Quality was decent, portion sizes were fair, and pricing remains reasonable for the area. IHOP still delivers on what it’s known for, but there’s nothing beyond the pancakes that stands out as exceptional.
It’s also worth noting that the surrounding area has built a bit of a reputation for crime and general disruption, which doesn’t help the overall environment. While it’s not a deal-breaker, it does factor into whether this location feels worth the wait or effort, especially during busy times.
Overall, IHOP Ronkonkoma is fine for an occasional visit — particularly if you’re craving their signature pancakes. But between the long waits, standard service, and the broader area concerns, it’s not a place I’d go out of my way for regularly. It gets the job done, but that’s about as far as it goes.

We were greeted by 3 very cheerful employees as we were escorted to our table.
We were very impressed. Your employees were trained well.

So bad! I love ihop but this location is terrible! I went with my boyfriend for brunch and the service was nonexistent. First, we didn’t get any silverware OR napkins. My boyfriend went behind the kiosk to get napkins for us. Then when the food came out I take a bite out of my Cali Melt and all I tasted was burnt. I get tomatoes are supposed to be a little charred but this was excessive. Not just my food but my boyfriends’ as well. He ordered a burger and there was a piece of chicken in it. This makes me wonder about cross contamination. Absolutely horrible. Not going back.

I hadn't been to an IHOP in over a decade and never one back home on Long Island. I went with my eldest son to this one at his request (his first time at this location, too) and had a clean restaurant, friendly staff and excellent breakfast food. Definitely a pleasant experience - and funny thing... Even the to go container for the food I couldn't finish was top shelf! Honestly, it was better than a container I got from a $500 per person meal at a steak house!
I'll go back there again when I visit. Well done, IHOP!

Attempted to place takeout order through their website but was unable to proceed because it kept showing me my contact information was incorrect. Everything was fine, but still unsuccessful.
Called store several times to place pickup order but no one answered.
Frustrated, drove to store - which only had about 4 customers - and ordered my breakfast. Asked clerk if phones were working but she seemed confused about my question.
As I placed order, called again - and lo and behold - phone was ringing and no one picked up.
I’m a generous tipster but not this time.
Zilch, nada, zero.
