Beautiful setting and delicious meal with plenty of leftover to take home. So glad we found you!
Mahal does not serve Indian ‘food'; they serve Indian CUISINE! This was a wonderful dining experience. The restaurant is beautifully done and the staff is friendly and well-trained. The menu is extensive and there is always someone who is most happy to offer explanations or suggestions. But oh the food...I have never been to India but I imagine this is what dining in a five star restaurant in India must be like. In a word: SUPERB! The chef is truly accomplished and I plan on being back many times in the future. I found the dishes to have just the right amount of spice;but if there is someone in your party who would like it less so just ask. The cucumber raita will also cool the palate. Aside from being a beautiful gem of a restaurant with delicious dishes and a lovely staff they are very accommodating.
Wonderful food ! My personal favorite was the dahi aloo puri for apps and the lobster masala !
Not your typical indian restaurant, a step above the rest. Decor is pleasant, food it great. I went with my friend who does not like "hot" spicy food and they were able to cater to her needs. The duck roll appetizer and lamb shank dishes had wonderful flavor. Highly recommended.
An outstanding dining experience in Indian cuisine. The food, service, drinks, and ambiance were stellar!!!
Without a doubt, the finest Indian restaurant on Long Island. The food is extraordinary- try the duck "egg rolls" appetizer and the lamb and vindaloo was superb! The sisters are awesome waitresses, so kind and friendly!
Great food and service, very reasonable prices. Ambience was great. Will definitely go back!
We love Mahal! The food is delicious, and the service is always attentive. The staff knows the food, can explain the menu, and answer any questions. I highly recommend this restaurant. It is a special place and a restaurant that we always look forward to going to.
We wanted to try a new Restaurant for Valentine Day so we choose Mahal. When we arrive the main restaurant was full and we were seated in the Banquet Hall upstairs. There was about 5 sets of family and couple seated as well. The service was very slow. Took very long for everyone to get their dinner. Our food was cold when arrived. I order additional naan and it never came, when I ask the server said she sent it back. I had much better food at other restaurant(Akbar in Garden City) is a great example. I would not go back , not only because of the service, the food was not great either. However the drinks were delicious.

Great service Delicious food Beautiful room and was fairly quiet even though it was crowed Great in every way
The food was very well cooked. It is quite spicy however, so you must ask for a mild if that's what you prefer. Very large variety on the menu and the staff was very friendly. It is a very beautifully decorated interior as well

I visited this restaurant with family. we are pure vegetarians and this place has the perfect item in their menu that I always long for:) that is the Veg Thali. Their veg thali is super tasty and good enough for 2 people with an extra order of rice, roti or poori. I make this suggestion because we were 3 pax and we ordered 3 thalis and the food was way too much in-spite of we being heavy eaters. The only thing that disappoint me about the thali was that It did not come with a dessert which is my favorite after any major meal of the day. Also their palak chat is a must try something nice, tasty and unique. And not forgetting the ambiance of this place, guys it gives an amazing and classy wala vibe. Our server was very friendly and the owner of the place is also very down to earth. Well now on another amazing Indian restaurant in my recommendation list.
