Incredible food, great drinks, freindly staff. Not something you'd expect in the middle of nowhere (no offense roxbury but you are out there! ) Will stop the next time we pass through.

a lovely place with accomodating staff, delicious pizza. we had five guests share 2 pizzas and a couple appetizers. also, when we went, there was a pride flag out front which was very welcoming.Vegetarian options: Soups, pizzas, veggie burger, etc.Kid-friendliness: has a reasonably priced kids menu, although the restraunt is quite small and dimly lit so might not be the best for energetic young toddlers

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Chappies with a group of 15 friends, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. Located conveniently near a mountain where we enjoyed snow tubing, this restaurant was the perfect post-adventure retreat.From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was warm and inviting, setting the stage for what turned out to be a culinary delight. Our diverse group sampled a variety of dishes, and each one surpassed our expectations. The French toast was a delightful start to our meal, with its perfect balance of sweetness and fluffiness. The Texas patty melt and grilled cheese sandwiches were absolute crowd-pleasers, bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection.One of the unexpected gems was the chai chili wrap, which added a delightful twist to our taste buds with its unique combination of flavors. Even the soup, a seemingly simple dish, impressed us with its depth of flavor and comforting warmth. I’ve read some reviews where people have said they waited a long time for service. One thing to keep in mind is this is a small town restaurant. They don’t have ten people waiting tables. So, you do have to be patient. Also, (as we learned) it is handy to have reservations. We didn’t the first night and did have to wait a little longer, but were given water right away and it was obvious our server (who was waiting tables by herself) was doing all she could to tend to tables. Food was excellent and the gluten free pizza was by far the BEST I’ve ever had. We loved everything so much we went back the second night (and made reservations.) Fabulous restaurant and it’s clear they take pride in the food they serve.

Myself and 14 of my friends and family came up to plattekill mountain for the day. We searched on Yelp and google for a restaurant close by to the mountain to go to after tubing. We found very minimal information on the local restaurants and most reviews were not the best. We also noticed that most restaurants open after 4pm, and the ones that were open really couldn't accommodate a group of 15. We found a place called Chappies out of 157 reviews they were rated 3.7. We called to see if they would accommodate us, the woman who answered was so pleasant and willing to accommodate us at prime lunch time. When we arrived they were pretty busy, and our table was reserved and ready for us with no wait time for seating. When placing our order the nice lady made sure to write everything down. I am very specific when it comes to my espresso martinis, I asked if they made it with real coffee, Kaluha and baileys and she said yes, that she makes it a chocolate espresso martini and asked if I would like it that way, I said sure. The martini was one of the best I have tried in quite sometime and the food was great. I had the burger with lettuce, tomato, onion, American, and bacon the patty was amazing...definitely not from frozen, I had it with a bacon potato soup and it was perfect...I wish I would have taken more home. Everyone at my table all 15 were so happy with their order and the service was great. The kids got hot chocolate with wip cream sprinkles and even little gummy worms I jokingly said oh wow I love gummy worms you kids are lucky I would love one, and then the nice lady came right back and gave me a little plate with some. This is a place with people who really go above and beyond with service. We will definitely be coming back.

i really hate leaving a bad review seriously but this was really bad. i have worked as a server/bartender my entire life and truly never do this. i ordered a dirty martini which, some places aren't cocktail bars. totally cool. the server said she wasn't sure how to make it and would remake it if it was bad before i even tasted it. i never ever send things back but it was HEINOUS. it clearly wasn't shaken or stirred, it was warm and tasted like equal parts vodka and vermouth with no olive juice. she said she googled the recipe and it "seemed wrong"? my boyfriends budweiser was also warm. we were then left with no server to order food for probably 20 minutes. it was getting busy, which i totally understand as well, no big deal. we got another server who was very apologetic and really sweet. we ordered truffle fries with our food and got regular, no big deal. our original server came back and we told her we just hoped to not be charged extra for truffle fries but were happy with regular fries. she said "oh sorry that server is really new" and seemed annoyed. we were going to get dessert but no one checked in on us for so long we decided against it, like i said it was busy so no big deal. after we paid and almost immediately upon walking out we realized that we paid a lot more than it seemed like we owed. we went back less than 10 minutes later and were told we couldn't look at our receipt because the ticket printer was broken? even though we saw the server printing out other receipts??? (i also watched a properly made martini dropped off to another table while this was happening, so its not like this isn't a place where martinis are made) after waiting for a very long time, the owner checked in with my boyfriend and helped us resolve the issue. i looked at the receipt and my martini was rang in with titos (which i did not order) and on top of that 3 dollar upcharge another $2 upcharge that just said "martini". they also didn't take off the truffle fries upcharge which we had previously checked in to make sure we didn't receive. so just a good $10 added to our bill for straight up no reason and she wasn't even initially willing to let us look at our check so it seems like it was done on purpose. i'm giving an extra star for the owner being super helpful and the super nice "new" server and the food was GREAT. but jesus christ that was some of the worst service i've ever seen anyone give and i work at dive bars for context. the first time i have really ever considered not tipping 20% and unfortunately we still did on the off chance that they pool tips i didn't want the other server to lose money. will definitely never come back, which seems like what that lady wanted.

The ambiance was local vibe; wood & metal & cool! Service was excellent. The burger & pesto chicken were very good. They also delivered the veggie pizza later and that was good also! Everyone was friendly and accommodating!

Arrived at 7:05pm, got a table for 2. Waited about 10 minutes for a server to approach us, ordered 1 order of fries and 2 alcoholic beveragesAt 7:45, we still hadn’t received our drink - so I flagged someone down and asked if there were any updates on the drinks. They asked what we ordered, and said to hold on.8:00, 2 drinks were brought to the table - not our drinks, not even close. We ordered a Bloody Mary and a whiskey ice tea. We received a large ice tea and a shot of whiskey.Told them these were so wrong, they brought out our correct drinks at 8:05.We cancelled the fries, drank our drinks and left.I get it was alittle busy today, but please don’t seat people you are going to ignore. Tables seated after us were served way ahead of us.

Popped in for a quick breakfast after a stay at the Roxbury Stratton Falls. I had the Monte Cristo and it blew away my expectations, not to mention the home fries which were cooked to be perfectly crisp on the outside and soft in the inside. I also had the Bloody Mary which was basically a meal in itself (and extra peppery/spicy just how I like it). Great meal and great service, I'll definitely be make a return visit on my next trip to Roxbury.

I'm going to poop all over this place! The only experience I got was a 20 min wait "smelling" the food I never got to taste! Waited to be seated not realizing they basically were turning people away on an early Friday night (probably about 4:30-5pm). While several of us waited in this really SMALL store front thinking we were all going to be seated only to have a waitress tell us all the owner isn't going to seat any of us because he's at capacity. The six tables they had was capacity because it's small and when I say it's really small I'm not exaggerating. I think my frustration from my visit is having customers wait long only to turn us away. The waitress was super nice and you can see she felt dreadful being the messenger to tell us, "the owner said he's not going to serve you tonight!" They even suggested a sister restaurant around the corner claiming it was similar and served similar food but it did NOT serve similar food. The sister restaurant was a bit more pricey because they had better stuff (e.g., steak, salmon). I wanted a burger and fries; some comfort food. This is such a small town with literally only two restaurants the owner should maybe just put a sign on the door when he's at capacity and not have customers waiting for more than several minutes when you clearly know you I have no intentions of serving folks. I could have been driving to another location during the time I waited to be turned away.
