This food blew us away. One of the best restaurants on Long Island without a doubt. This chef knows what he's doing and the service matches the quality of the food as well. Can't recommend this restaurant enough.

Absolutely amazing food! So fresh, everything is made to order, best eggplant parmesan I have ever had! My daughter had the Carrot Ginger Soup with Mascarpone & Amaretti Crumbles and that was incredible. Service was impeccable, would give it 10 stars if I could!

One of the best restaurants I've ever been to, anywhere (including in Italy). Tiny restaurant- you'll need to book a reservation.Recently went with my husband. We loved the atmosphere, service, and FOOD! We had: warm bread w their flavorful olive oil, mussel appetizer, small plates of spaghetti carbonara + rigatoni w shrimp & arugula pesto, fluke with mushrooms, eggplant parm, and finished with a cappuccino & dark choc brownie. We both loved our meal- too much food but we hadn't been in over 5 years so we wanted to try a bunch of dishes. Everything was amazing but the eggplant parm was a show stopper- paper thin eggplant with the most delicious tomato sauce topped with cheese (not just mozz...actual parmesan)- just incredible.

The food was out of this world. The restaurant was much smaller than expected and definitely a bit of a “hole in the wall” but the food was some of the best Italian I’ve ever had. Such a pleasant surprise!

Cozy. A real trattoria. Best italian food I’ve had in YEARS on LI. The chefs and service were phenomenal. The brasato was one of my favorite dishes I’ve ever had in my life. Fiancée loved the fluke. Baked Clams, Octopus were great. Bread with marinated olives were good can’t wait to come back for other stuff.

Big prices for extremely small portions. No one told us beforehand that it was cash only which created another problem.

I can’t recommend this place enough. My wife and I have gone to this restaurant numerous times and every time has been fantastic. Make sure to make a reservation because it’s always packed. Very great family

Food and service were great! The place is very small and loud but totally worth going if you don't mind that. Definitely need to make a reservation!

This place is a hidden gem. Small seating capacity without feeling tight. Call for a reservation. The food and service are excellent. Our server last night was professional and attentive - we ate our weight in bread. We ordered their pickled vegetables as an add on to their bread and oil and they were delicious - sweeter but with nuanced flavors. We did a round of appetizers: baked little necks, mussels, and tripe. I could've had three dozen of their little necks. Whoever their seafood purveyor is nails the catch. The mussels were fat and tasty in a sauce that complimented their natural flavors and everything tasted fresh. My mother went in for their bolognase which was a hug on a plate. Warm, savory, a little creamy on papardelle- and I just had one bite. My picture above is of their black spaghetti with calamari. I have never had squid this good. Ever. Frankly, the dish suffers from being so damn special that I'll have to go back to get more. My dad had a veal chop that left him groaning happily and was cooked perfectly. Every single dish was perfectly cooked. They were all delivered with perfect timing and the desserts did not disappoint. We were also graced with the chef coming out and asking us about our meal. This was an act of pure class. Truly a wonderful experience. Be advised: cash only. Bring plenty.

This was first dining experience at The Trattoria and it won't be my last! The food and service were both excellent. However, what stood out for me was the owners way of immediately handling an order mixup. I had been debating between the chicken and eggplant Parmigiano. I ordered eggplant, so when the server brought chicken I wasn't terribly upset and thought perhaps I had made the mistake. The server immediately apologized and offered to replace the dish but as I was hungry, I decided not to wait. The owner immediately came over and offered the eggplant regardless to take home free of charge thus providing me with 2 delicious meals! All of this without a single word of complaint on my part. Now THAT'S good business practice plus the best Italian food I've had in quite some time!
