Bison meatloaf was excellent, as was the accompanying mashed potatoes and asparagus. As always, the cornbread was super.
Although we have enjoyed dining here before, Camp Fire seems to have improved since the last time we were here. The food, the service, the vibe, the comfortable chairs—nothing here is going to blow your mind but it all adds up to something greater than its parts.
We stayed at the hotel for a night early in the week and had a most enjoyable dinner and breakfast at The Campfire. We came in to Saranac from our campsite nearby for some shopping and decided to come again for dinner. Totally worth it in every way. Great food. Fabulous service. Relaxed yet elegant ambiance. Just missed the opportunity we so enjoyed before of chatting with the head chef - who was so interesting and generous!! Seems he wasn't in this time.
Menu labels vegan/vegetarian options, but double check before ordering, especially if it's a non-veg item that "can be" made differently with substitutes. Currently the menu lists two appetizers that say they can be made vegan, but the server informed me that they actually can't, because the restaurant only has one fryer, which is used for meat. The menu does change seasonally, so maybe there are better options at other times of the year.
We had a wonderful meal with our family. The food was excellent and well presented. As a family we tried several different dishes and they were all excellent. The service was also excellent. We highly recommend eating here

The kitchen at Campfire is top notch. The Chef and Team do a wonderful job. Every meal was fantastic, you can't go wrong. The fresh fruit with whipped ricotta and cinnamon was so refreshing and flavorful. The Smoked Salmon bagel plate was perfect before heading out to walk around town. Truly a wonderful experience and so much talent coming out of the kitchen.
Rachel (who is a top level craft bartender) and the other bartenders and staff are exceptional. They really made us feel welcome at the hotel and restaurant. Looking forward to returning next summer.
Highly recommend this restaurant. We stay in Lake Placid frequently but usually make the short trip to Saranac to go to The Campfire Adirondack Grill Restaurant. As usual we thoroughly enjoyed the food, service and ambience at our most recent visit.
We have come to Saranac Lake a number of times over the years and tried a few local restaurants, but none compare to Campfire Grill. We dined at this restaurant last year around this time (we often take an anniversary trip to the Adirondacks) but found that its quality (uneven) and service (slow) were not up to the standard we hped for. This year, the food, service, and overall experience were excellent, so much so, we ate here 4 nights in a row and also enjoyed 3 breakfasts during our stay at the hotel. We tried many dishes, including the pork chop (superb), salmon (beautifully seasoned and accompanied by a lovely creole sauce), and meatloaf (the best my husband, a meat-eater, ever had). Salad offerings could be improved, and not all desserts were as good as they could be. We were served by different servers on different days, so we can't name each, but they were all personable, engaging, and highly efficient. The chef, Christian, has a genius for flavors - they infuse all his dishes, especially the meats and fish.
Apps were good! The lunches were soggy by the time they eventually got there. The service was extremely slow even though there was basically no one there for lunch. Took over 30 minutes to get orders in due to waitstaff just blatantly not coming over.

We had the Salmon and Pork Chop dishes and they were both excellent - the Pork was among the most tender and juicy we have ever had. Our Server was excellent and helped guide us to our choices. Overall it was a memorable experience.
Mother’s Day buffet . Lots of choices but the food was not good. Couldn’t eat the prime rib because it was so tough. My nephew paid for the meal for seven of us but $65.00 per person? Yes that included the gratuity but way overpriced. Would not return even though the atmosphere was very nice.
We’ve eaten here a number of times but tonight was exceptional. I had the two specials a tomato burrata salad and a crusted trout. Both were excellent like Michelin star level good. Disappointed to hear the chef was leaving. Would love to hear where they will be next. Hopefully they can find someone as good for next time.
Very nice place for dinner, the food was good and we had good service! The salmon dish was amazing!
I was so disappointed to learn the corn bread had been dropped. That was the biggest attraction to dining there. Pretty lousy dining experience tonight. Our server Rachel was the only positive part.
