Lovely dinner. I made reservation indicating it was an anniversary dinner. They started us off with a free prosecco for our anniversary... nice touch. Hostess, waitress and chef were all great. Food excellent. Treat yourself to dinner here.
Campfire is well worth the trip from Lake Placid, if that is where you are staying. And if you get a chance to stay at the Hotel Saranac, I would say do that as well. Dinner started warm cornbread loaves and followed along with a grilled Caesar salad. (You can order it chopped instead, but I say go with a grilled romaine head and chop it yourself. That was fine and fun for us.) I had the blackened salmon, which game in slight, tasty puddle of creole sauce and slightly topped in...
Although we have enjoyed dining here before, Camp Fire seems to have improved since the last time we were here. The food, the service, the vibe, the comfortable chairs—nothing here is going to blow your mind but it all adds up to something greater than its parts.
