This coffee shop is conveniently located across the street from Hotel Saranac, making that the only thing convenient about it.After trying to order online and not being able to add seasonal beverages to my order or make any changes, I tried calling instead. I was told that they don’t take phone orders. I ended up ordering online but was still unable to find a field to ask for an ingredient to be removed from my order. Fortunately at the end, I did see a section where you could add a note. I requested for the avocado to be removed from the order.I picked up my sandwich and ended up having to place a second order for the drink that was not listed on their ordering site. The barista I interacted with both on the phone and in person was not pleasant nor helpful. My sandwich came with the avocado still on it, even though the paper on my order included my note to remove it. I had somewhere to be and couldn’t ask for them to remake it, but I’m just grateful that I’m not allergic to avocado and could settle for picking it off. However, this could be an issue for someone else.It’s too bad as the reviews were promising and I love visiting coffee shops and supporting small businesses. Unfortunately I can’t recommend Origin Coffee Co. based on all the factors that went into this experience.

I ordered a breakfast sandwich (with bacon) to go. I was able to walk in, see my order on the counter, grab it, and go. While I do not consider myself a big fan of focaccia bread, this breakfast sandwich was great! I highly recommend this place.

It was a nice spot with good vibes tucked away under apartment buildings. Both locations are equally great. Love that they use hand soap from a local shop and sell artwork from local artists. One really special detail was the staff artwork for sale. That kind of community building is precious.

It’s worth the trip just for a delicious coffee drink they call the “Sweater Weather Latte” — as made by John, their friendly and super-welcoming barista. We also had their banana toast and avocado toast, and it was excellent.
