I came here once over the summer and really vibed with the owner. He's friendly and carries a conversation gracefully. (Spoke with Ty this time. Also a good guy.) The first time we vibed I'd ordered chocolate, but I remember he said the sweet blue-nilla flavor was his favorite so I figured I'd try it and savor it. How can you beat it? It's made with organic blueberries and local honey, clearly made from scratch. There's no catch; it tastes crisp, fresh. So does the cheesy Mac. Had to have that. Brings me back. Yanno those childhood days. Anyways. Kaleidoscope Cafe. It's a homemade ice cream place. Go and grab a scoop, perhaps a plate. p.s. This is the last time and place I'm eating out before embarking on a 13 day complete water fast, after which I won't be won't be eating out again, unless I happen to be on vacation or traveling with a family member or some other rare occasion. The fast starts on Ekadashi on March 20th, 2024 and will carry on all the way through Palm Sunday on the 24th, Holi on the 25th, Good Friday on the 29th, Easter on the 31st, and Easter Monday on April 1st. I plan on breaking the fast on April 1st; that is, unless God guides me to keep fasting. And no, it's not what you're thinking; this is not an April Fool's joke. Not to make this about me, but I've been building up my fasting tolerance for years now. I've fasted for 5 days, 6 days, and 7 days on separate occasions, on nothing but pure, distilled water. I've fasted 3 days more times than I can count. And I've been consistently fasting 24-36 hours per week for years now. I feel all this fasting has culminated into me embarking on this (at least) 13 day fast. It all started when I read The Miracle of Fasting by Paul C. Bragg. Since then, I've enjoyed reading many other credible fasting works, one of which is The Science and Fine Arts of Fasting by Dr. Herbert M. Shelton, a man who has fasted more people than any other doctor in recorded history. Again, this is not about me, although it may seem like a personal testimony. To put it succinctly: I'm not sure who will read this, if anyone will believe it, or if anyone cares; that's not why I put this on here. I certainly won't be telling any friends and family, so this is really between us. Inasmuch as my profile on here is anonymous, I feel comfortable sharing this with whoever does read it. Other than this info that I share with you now, this fast is in secret. Who knows, someone may benefit from it. It may inspire someone. That is more along the lines of my intent. At any rate, this will likely be my last post on here. As you can see from what I've already posted, I've had my fun in the world. For the good of all concerned, I'll share one thing I've observed, one thing that I've learned from fasting: Although pleasure is beautiful, as all of existence has an intrinsic aesthetic beauty to it, it is ultimately enslaving. I've discovered a lasting joy with regular fasting. It's now obvious that pleasure is one level of pleasantness and joy is another. Although pleasure is beautiful, it is binding. Joy is wonderful; above all it is liberating. I've found that fasting is invigorating--a safe, practical, and evolutionary opportunity for everybody, whatever their race, religion, or nationality. Whatever "their" personal history. It's an effective way to build up our Vitality.

Today we met Bruce at the Saratoga farmers market and he was awesome! His lavender honey ice cream was incredible. Not over powering in flavor but the perfect amount. We will be visiting his shop in the near future.

The food is great! We usually get pulled pork takeout and some sort of ice cream treat and we are always happy. I absolutely love the yard as well. It's really welcoming and reminds me of eating in a backyard barbecue

One of Saratoga’s best kept secrets! Unbelievably good ice cream and Italian ice! We had the honey lavender ice cream, peanut butter immersion ice cream and strawberry lemonade ice today and they were all amazing. The owner clearly cares about every item on the menu - locally sourced, natural ingredients (no artificial coloring, flavors, etc), unique flavors, everything made in house. Highly recommend to any ice cream lovers in the area!

Had an awesome experience, got a pulled chicken sandwich and a pulled pork sandwich followed by easily the best vanilla milkshake I’ve had. Extremely friendly service as well! Will definitely be returning!

Blown away with the amount of meat they throw on a Sammy. Had the brisket last week (Absolutely amazing) and had the pulled pork this week (amazing) definitely got yourself a repeat customer.

I don't think I've ever written a bad review. Good ones, yes, but bad ones, I don't think I have. I wish I had pics, my mistake. We ordered the pulled pork and the baked beans to have with some other things on a Sunday during the football games a few months back. Thank God we had other food because what we got from Kaleidoscope Cafe was terrible, and believe me, I'm the furthest thing there is from a foodsnob! The pulled pork was completely flavorless and even a little dry. There was no sauce on it at all. I make a good vinegar based sauce for when I make pulled pork, so I was able to make it edible. As for the baked beans, hand to God, they NEVER spent a minute in an oven! Maybe a microwave oven to warm them up, but that's it. Consistency, look, and taste were EXACTLY like Campbell's Pork & Beans from a can just without the pieces of white pork fat. Again, no flavor at all and not even worth trying to salvage. They just got thrown out. The only thing I am grateful for is the fact that I had purchased one of those deals to try this place, $15 for $30, and ended up only spending about $25 total.

Best BBQ in upstate NY! The ribs are smoked perfectly. The sauce options are so good, my fav is the the Honey BBQ. The Mac & cheese is the best side. Props to Bruce and his staff who are beyond nice to their customers!

Brisket was amazing. And you have to get the ice cream. They have really good and unique flavors. I got the honey lavender and the sweet blue nilla with wild blueberries. Bruce the owner and Ty were so dang nice. Very worth the stop.
