Watched an employee take over 5 minutes to put cheese on two sandwiches

The subway located at 80 West Ave., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 has gone Way downhill. I was in the store almost ready to order a sandwich when an employee of Dunkin’ Donuts walked over to Subway and started picking up with her bare hands several pieces of meat of her choice and started eating The food. Disgusting. I will never eat there again.
Taking a look at the way, the food is set up for preparation to make a sandwich is also nasty. The lettuce is old and not fresh looking whatsoever nor are the tomatoes. The staff often goes outside to have cigarettes coming back in only to work with food And I can tell you that the smell of cigarette smoke to me is very nasty. They don’t practice hygiene very well. They don’t use gloves properly.

There were two wonderful employees there not too long ago one was Christine who I believe was the manager of the store. She ran a tight ship and everything was spic and span and the food was absolutely delicious. No problems with anything absolutely no complaints whatsoever as well as the other lady that worked with her. So sad to see both of them leave the store.
So I myself will not eat there again, and I don’t have a problem telling my family and friends of the things I’ve seen and the way I feel. I think that the department of Health should step in and take a good look at what is really going on in that franchise. And I certainly wouldn’t make it a schedule visit. So if nobody’s behind the counter ready to make a sandwich go look outside because they’re outside smoking and chatting as if they had nothing to do. Sorry for the review, but it is the truth and you can’t change the truth.

Fast food should be fast. I waited in line for 20 minutes my entire lunch break is 30 minutes. It took the lady 20 plus minutes to make 3 subs and a salad for 2 customer's ahead of me in line. Then she proceeds to tell me she has an online order she needs to complete before she can get to me. How can you attend to an online order when you are short staff and have a customer waiting in line for 20 minutes? I had to leave because my lunch break was over and luckily made it back in time to work on an empty stomach. I mean 1pm isn't peak lunch time either.

The staff was friendly which was the best part of this Subway. It was clean.It is a "subway light" and doesn't have the full menu.

Walked in at 830 to order subs for the family, and the guy was wiping down the sandwich prep area. Looked up and half-hearted said gimme a min and then began meticulously taking his time to wipe the Rea down again (that was going to get dirty making my subs) for 2-3minutes. Not saying a word then proceeded to wipe the sneeze shield, and knocked stuff down into the condiment bins. Still wouldn't even make eye contact, he obviously didn't want to make my food, just wanted to clean and go home in 30 min. Walked out in lieu of getting 4 sub combos.
