I ordered the Steak Fritze. To be fair, the steak was cooked well, but way under seasoned. It came with french fries and a small pile of limp, undressed, spring mix. They were the skimpiest fries I have ever seen, and for a $39 meal, I don't expect frozen fast food fries. For that price the fries should be at least 5 guys quality... 🫤
My wife ordered a small ceasar salad ($9) and a bowl of French onion soup. The salad was sent back after one bite. The Romain was soft and brown along the cut edges. Everyone knows you tear lettuce, you don't cut it. It seemed like the Romain was "prepped" in the morning and sat waiting to be served, which for us was 5:30pm. The ceasar dressing was all but nonexistent. However, that was not a bad thing. Bottled dressing would have better. A chain restaurant would have been far better.
Her french onion soup ($10) was weak in flavor and the onions were cooked to mush. That went back as well.
I honestly do not understand all the 5 star reviews... the place was empty and I fully understand why.
They have a lot of work to do.

got food poisoning after eating here! beer battered haddock came out soaked in grease and fries hard as rocks. the brussels sprouts were great. Atmosphere is great which gives this a 2 instead of a 1.

Nice local restaurant very close to Saratoga Race Track. It has reasonable prices and the appetizers and food were very good. Service was very good as well. Also had some live music which was nice.

Decided to give The Brook another try and was disappointed again. Asked for a quiet table and was put at the same table in left field next to a family with 4 kids. Not great. Waitress finally came and took our drink order and then we ordered food which eventually came and was warm and mediocre. Waitress never returned. The hostess came back and asked how things were going, and we were honest. We asked why we weren't offered or given water, and she said you have to ask for water. Unbelievable. I have never been to a restaurant where you had to ask for water. She did remove the tacos from our bill, but I won't go back.

Brussel sprouts were a very large portion, very flavorful and fantastic.short ribs were cooked to perfection, flavorful and very tender.called for availability and they were able to get us a table within 15 minutes on a Friday night; excellent service all-around.would highly recommend.

We were very happy with Brook Tavern! It has a cozy local tavern vibe. My wife had the pulled pork & I had the pulled pork/mac 'n cheese. Both were delicious, pleasing mild smoke flavor & generous portions. We weren't even expecting entertainment but they had a young singer/guitarist who was very talented. We sat right near him & it wasn't too loud either. You could still carry on a conversation while listening. My Bourbon pour didn't disappoint either. Our waitress, staff & greeter were awesome & very accommodating. All in all great experience & I highly recommend Brook Tavern!
