this place used to have the best gluten-free avocado toast but I don't know what happened now the toast is thinner than my pinky nail and they burn it every single time? There's more avocado dip on it than two times of the toast, not enjoyable anymore when you just get a mouthful of burnt toast and and overload of avocado.

Dietary restrictions: I would no longer recommend this as a gluten free spot, 9$ for a slim ration is ridiculous especially if its burnt and not tasty.

Walked in with our family the lady didn’t greet us and so we started to place an order on the kiosk still no greeting. Another customer walks in and she instantly pulls her to the front ahead of us and takes her order. This was not a great first time experience and for that reason we left without ordering anything.

I’ve been coming here since the business opened as Urban Roots. I was thrilled to have a smoothie bowl place as saratoga juice bar had recently closed. I’ve tried a few of the smoothies, juices, bowls and avo toasts. My absolute favorite items they came out with was the blue my mind smoothie bowl and the ahi tuna grain/salad bowl. I would get the smoothie bowl once or twice a month. It was delicious. The tuna was amazing and had such a great savory grilled flavor to it. I was very sad when I saw both items were removed from the menu and it honesty deterred me from going there for a while. I still love the mr roger’s smoothie and is a convenient breakfast treat for me since I work across the way at Fresh Market. The peanut butter + banana + cocoa + coffee is such a great flavor combo. I appreciate their early opening time as well. I’ve had some of their avocado toast flavors, all very good as well. I’m curious to try their paninis too. I’m hopeful maybe they will consider bringing the blue my mind bowl back or something similar as the closest thing I can find is at Bare Blends on congress street.

I visited this smoothie place hoping for a great experience given the cool atmosphere and appealing menu. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing due to the poor customer service. From the moment I ordered, the worker’s hostile and uninterested attitude made even simple requests feel uncomfortable.

To make matters worse, a system issue led to my card being blocked by my bank, and rather than addressing it respectfully, the staff blamed me and suggested I didn’t have sufficient funds. My girlfriend, who has a life-threatening tree nut allergy, initially received some accommodation, but their dismissive and skeptical behavior was evident. At one point, they even accused her of lying about her allergy—a claim that is not only offensive but dangerous given the severity of food allergies.

When we raised concerns about one smoothie tasting different from the previous order, the staff escalated the situation and threatened to call the police, alleging that we were being dishonest about her allergy. This response was not only unprofessional but deeply upsetting, showing a complete lack of empathy or understanding for the potential seriousness of their actions.

To top it off, their response to her review was dismissive and slanderous, further compounding the poor treatment we received. I have never experienced such appalling customer service and would not recommend this establishment to anyone.

I recently left a review about my disappointing experience, and the owner’s response was even more upsetting, as it misrepresents the situation entirely. While they claim to take food allergies seriously, my actual experience made me feel unsafe and unheard. Their “accommodation” for my tree nut allergy did not inspire confidence, and the dismissive response to my concerns only adds to my frustration.

To clarify, I did not consume my entire smoothie before raising an issue. My boyfriend and I ordered different smoothies, and after tasting his, I realized mine was significantly lacking in quality and flavor. I brought this up politely and was met with refusal when I asked for a resolution, showing a complete disregard for customer satisfaction.

The comments about my payment method declining are both irrelevant and misleading. My card went through successfully at first, but their rewards system failed to apply properly. They refunded me so we could retry the transaction, but my bank flagged the refund, requiring me to use another card. Bringing this up publicly feels like an unnecessary attempt to discredit me rather than focusing on resolving the actual issues.

Lastly, the claim that I “threatened” a poor review is completely false. I provided honest feedback based on my experience, and this response only confirms the lack of professionalism and accountability at this establishment. I was hopeful they would take this opportunity to improve, but their response only made a bad situation worse.

Dietary restrictions: I was extremely disappointed with how this establishment handled my dietary restrictions, specifically my tree nut allergy. Not only was their accommodation lackluster, but their response to my concerns was downright insulting. In their reply to my review, they falsely claimed I was being dishonest about my allergy, which is completely untrue and frankly bizarre.

To clarify, I informed them about my tree nut allergy upfront, and they prepared my smoothie accordingly. However, my boyfriend’s smoothie (a completely different kind) contained peanuts, which are not the same as tree nuts. Suggesting that I lied about my allergy because I tasted his smoothie is both ignorant and unprofessional. Anyone with dietary restrictions or allergies knows the importance of being clear, and that’s exactly what I did.

Accusing a customer of dishonesty about something as serious as an allergy is a major red flag. This kind of response not only shows a lack of accountability but also raises serious concerns about how they handle allergies in general. I wouldn’t feel safe returning here, and I would caution anyone with dietary restrictions to think twice before visiting.

My go to are the Overnight Oats (add fruit AND the almond butter) and the Santa Fe Chicken with Green Goddess dressing. Everything is very fresh and so tasty!!
We just tried three of the soups- so yummy. Plus, the sour dough bread is amazing.
Anytime I’m driving by exit 15 I have to stop and get something. Highly recommend!!
