This is a small sandwich shop right off the road with cute pickle inspired window decor and great food for a day in Saugerties.

Really exceptional horseradish pickes and regular sours. We had the potato salad too which was beyond average by a lot. Saw the guy make someone else a sandwich and it looked pretty delicious too. Next time!

I've been to the Brine Barrel several times, and it's always been subs full of meat & all, plus delish pickles. Impulse stopped today on my way past, and nearly fell through the porch. Definitely prepare for the shift of the boards. Walked in and it REEKED of cigarettes. It's always kind of dark in there, so it was just a dingy vibe when you add smoke. That said, I still got a sub - they've definitely slimmed down recently, but damn it was tasty. I also got a pint of the red hot pickles, which aren't that spicy, but still tasty. The owner was nice enough, I wouldn't say friendly, but didn't snarl at me. I do find it funny that none of the subs seem to have pickles on them, considering it's a pickle place! ‍ Here's hoping he fixes the porch, maybe spiffs up the place a little, and stays open for a long time - because the subs really used to be good!

This Is A Sub. This Is What I Thought I Would Get From A Sub/Sandwich Shop That Has Been Around As Long As They Have. Honestly I Enjoyed Subs From SubWay 101% More Than BB Sub And I'm Not To Crazy For SubWay Subs. So In A Nut Shell You Want A Good Decent Sub Look Elsewhere Because You're Not Gonna Get Anything Decent Here At The Brine Barrel. Zero Stars But For This Review They Ask For A Star Rating

Finally had a chance to stop by last week. Picked up a container of half sour and dill pickles. Pickles were delicious and so much better than store bought ones.

Brine Barrel is my exact favorite kind of shop. Most places try to offer a million and a half different things and do most of them okay. Not Brine Barrel. He does like 10 things, and they are all fantastic. The pickles will absolutely destroy anything mass produced. You don't know what you are missing until you have had hand made small batch. The pepper shooters are absolutely must-try. An explosion of savory salty flavors. The sandwiches are good quality, and really well thought out on how much of each ingredient they have. He cuts the more expensive cured meats thick which makes a huge difference to the texture. The place is great. Give it a shot.

Located a bit further down Partition, Brine Barrel is the town pickle store. It usually looks deserted inside and they don't always answer the phone, however they're typically open. Except once in a blue moon when they decide not to open. They make really good pickles include a wide variety of flavors/options, so that gives them the right to do as they damned well please. I get it.m and so should you.I always get the Klink sandwich, which is Genos salami, turkey, and sharp provolone with horseradish Mayo and pickles on hero bread. It's a pretty incredible sandwich, and typically enough for 1 lunches unless I'm really hungry. Really good balance of ingredients too. Other sandwiches are good too with the only I didn't love being the pastrami (just ok). Decent selection of chips to go along with it too. For pickles I like the full sour, horseradish, and some of the other spicy varieties. Can't really go wrong and the prices are reasonable all around. Great place that sometimes flies under the radar because it looks unassuming from the outside. Don't be fooled.

Now with Apple Pay! and a Square terminal. We wore masks last time we were here, did not this time. Amazing sandwiches, small menu, quality pickles and chips, what more could you want? Beloved by locals and these tourists a like.

Saw it on the internet and decided to stop by when we were in town. Glad we did, an old school, small town take out deli. Delicious sandwiches.

I got my first sub 3 days ago and have been back everyday since! If ur in the mood for a great sub don’t waste your time or money anywhere else.

Was on a road trip and stopped here by chance. So glad we did because the sandwich was too die for. The homeade sauces especially the garlic mayo was absolutely delicious.. would recommend to everyone and anybody in the area. The potato salad was equally unforgettable.
