A fun modern addition to the village. Great people who are engaged with the community.

A bit bland... especially for the prices which were quite high... in the end, we were disappointed.

Selling sushi for $21 and $25 a portion of 6 and the quality is the same as if you are buying sushi in the supermarket of a cheap Chinese store. I was shocked by the courage to sell that type of the quality of sushi. The service was Horrable, received the beer at the main course after reminding the waiter 2 times. I won’t go there again.

The sushi was superb, undoubtedly the finest in Westchester. Unfortunately, the service was awkward and uncomfortable; our server appeared, stared at us without a word, took our order, and abruptly left. It was a peculiar experience, and obtaining the check took ages with no follow-up. The restaurant ambiance felt off due to overly bright lights, making the evening less comfortable. Additionally, the decor was unappealing.

Chicken tempura roll is one of the best if not the best I’ve ever had.

Gave a second chance. This place is very pricey based on the quality. Sushi was pretty bad. Sigh.

First time at Akai and it was a wonderful experience. I had known the space as Lange's deli and had not been in it since Akai moved in. I was stunned. The space is beautiful, sophisticated, roomy, beautiful. Our waiter was Angel, and he really was an angel guiding us through the menu, answering all our questions with a smile, delivering our food with gusto. The food was excellent! I highly recommend Akai!!!

After completing some business errands in the city, me and my wife decided to stop by here for our a lunch. It was a weekday and I always like less crowded places. The ambiance of this place its a bit upscale than the norm, and the staffs are well trained and were professional. My wife love rolls and sushi while I prefer chicken meat thus I got the katsu lunch box. We had some salads too for our sides and these work perfectly. I tried out some of the rolls she ordered and I like it. The prep of my katsu is good too. I would definitely visit this place again and will try the other dish on their menu. I highly recommend this.

The tempura vegetables were very unusual. It was celery, red pepper, green pepper and a large slice of onion. I have never seen these veggies served as tempura. The california rolls tasted okay but they were tiny.

Extremely slow service, average food and half of the sushi on the menu isn’t even available to order. Overcharged us for an extra drink too.
