Rude waitress. Served my wife a used glass with a dried lemon pit on the bottom. 3 dried corned beef sandwiches that were microwaved to death. And stuffed derma that was ice cold. When I told the waitress you could hear her yelling in the kitchen "he said its cold make it super hot" They served the appitizer with the main course to rush you out. If you was kosher deli this not the place to go!!!
Walked by a couple days ago on my way back from an appointment. I'm relatively new to the area. Looked interesting, figured I'd stop by and check it out. Door was unlocked, and I could've sworn the sign said open. Apparently I was wrong about that, but nobody told me until they sat me. Felt super guilty, kept saying I'd come back later, but they insisted that I stay and eat because they were opening soon and had finished everything for the morning anyway. Not gonna lie, I felt weird. But everyone was so friendly and casual and nice, the food was great. It was a much needed and appreciated positive experience. But maybe doublecheck the hours before entering because I felt like an idiot.
The pastrami was grisly, the service slow. Previously the gravy with the brisket was cold?
Good pastrami and knish’s cold beer
This is a very large kosher deli located between two other kosher delis on Central avenue in Westchester county. This place is very large and good for very large groups. The the staff is super friendly and we decide to eat inside and we replace the far away from all the couples. It comes with a normal unlimited coleslaw pickles you can ask for bread sandwiches are overstuffed and large the fries are crinkle cut hand cut the prices are higher than the fidelities. Not quite sure why they will use the same meat but it's a very good deli
I always love to go to Ben's KDelicates . Any were I can find one , zip will go. Great Food.
Great place and great food. Also the best coleslaw anywhere.
Quick summary: good deli sandwiches and other items like knishes and salads. Avoid the luke-warm takeaway hotdogs. Reasonable prices. I was visiting my family in the area, and we stopped in for some take-away food. (My aunt loves the knishes of all kinds.) We've been here a few times for eat-in for very good pastrami sandwiches, etc. Full deli menu of sandwiches, burgers, wraps, dinner. They also have platters and catering for take-away parties, events, etc. Good COVID safety practices. The disappointment that keeps this place from 5 dots deli: a luke-warm takeaway hot dog, that should have been much warmer. While a relatively small thing on a wide menu, I don't have much patience for an item that should be an easy no-brainer.
When Looking For Kosher Style Options, Ronnie & His Team Are Our Go To! Ronnie Never Disappoints Us! Thanks RD!!!
The true kosher deli is a dying breed. There are kosher style deli's out there like Katz. However the food is not kosher. You can taste the difference in kosher meat. The flavors are better the quality is better. If you like old school Ben's has a dish called beef in the pot. It literally is the kitchen sink. Short ribs, Matzo ball, kreplach, noodles, peas & carrots in real chicken broth. Better not eat two meals before having this. The short rib meat literally falls of the bone. Very flavored. Try it with a little horse radish. There sandwich selections also great. This is a kosher gastronomy delight.
Restaurantji Recommends
Old school sit down deli. Tried the potato pancakes- excellent. Home made. Cole slaw and pickles were just right. Have to try the pastrami next time . Service was great.
Certainly a spot worth trying, the food is excellent and fresh, the rates are reasonable and it is constantly well organized in here. Keep it up.
Rosie and I were regulars at Ben's Bayside. With covid we tried the one in Scarsdale. I enjoyed pastrami on rye and a nice kasha knish. Rosie had her usual two crisp dogs and a doctor Browns. Service was fine even with the waitress having to deal with the whole place. We will be back but we really miss Bayside.
Loveeeee itttt!!!! Great corn beef great brisket. Endless slaww and gooooooood potato salad ???
I recommend the pastrami and their knish. Definitely coming back.
