It was our first visit here. We sat on the porch for dinner, which has a view of the lake. All of the waitstaff were super friendly, our server didn't rush and took the time to chat to us. The menu is varied, so you could have a burger if you wanted one. We had bruschetta as an app, rainbow trout and salmon over linguine for dinner. My only wish is that there was one dessert option that wasn't so heavy. Maybe a trio of sorbet? Great find and worth the 45 min drive to get there.

Service was incredibly slow. Many customers were complaining. The servers were WONDERFUL. The kitchen was slow. Our food took forever. We waited well over an hour after ordering for our entrees to arrive. We were also overcharged for several items. The prices on the menu did not align with the prices on the bill. And the food was mediocre when it finally did arrive. I want to reiterate - our server was wonderful. He checked in on us frequently, he updated us on the status of our order several times. He did great. None of this was his fault.

Brown Swan is at a lovely resort. Restaurant with beautiful views of Schroon Lake and grounds. Eating on the porch is a treat. We were two couples. Three of us ordered short ribs which were outstanding. Remaining person ordered Maple Chicken which was excellent flavor but this man said it could have been larger pieces of chicken breast. He was happy to help his partner finish her short ribs. At the end, we were too full to order desert and very happy. I have had the trout during previous meals and it is always excellent. Service was excellent. Fast, friendly and efficient. My husband and I came frequently last year for brunch on the porch and it was always wonderful.

Overall, I recommend the restaurant. We ate for three strait days and nights and it was somewhat up and down. I believe they have only been operating for a couple years and are def trending up. Its not cheap and the service and food need match the price point.

Sadly, the food was not good. The dish that we ordered was overcooked. It seemed that the service staff was not trained properly. Which added to our disappointment. If you’re in the Schroon lake area try the owl at twilight. In my opinion, the best restaurant in the area..

Tamine was our service and did a great job. Very accommodating and friendly. Food and drinks were great and the outside seating overlooked lake was very pretty. Highly recommend to stop for dinner.

I was visiting for a business event in another town. I chose this restaurant because it accepted reservations, while others did not. Our server was very busy, and a different staff member delivered our ordered food. Meals are served in wide, shallow bowls rather than typical plates. The sea of risotto dwarfed my salmon, and the three asparagus spears looked lonely. The meal was good, although I couldn't rate the risotto because I avoid starch. I knew it was there and didn't request anything different. The filet was cooked as requested. The GF short ribs smelled amazing as they were carried past our table. I confess a tinge of buyer's remorse. Next time? The ambiance was charming. Live entertainment in the bar area contributed to the background noise; the atmosphere was quiet without it. The location and the lake are beautiful.

Beautiful plates. Excellent flavor ! Short ribs were so tender and delicious! Calamari had quite a kick with the jalapenos! Fig flatbread was melt-in-your mouth delicious! Desserts was rich ! The setting was beautiful! Service was excellent. Server was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions! We had a wonderful evening and we'll be back to try out The Tavern!
