We were not impressed. I may have gone thinking it was going to be better than it was. The service was all over the place, except for our waiter, he was fantastic. There were bus boys and maître d' all over the restaurant- looked like too many kids working. Then the owner yelled at one in front of us and a bunch of tables. Never mind I personally don’t like attitudes and treatment to people like that, she could have took them to a private area and told them what she thought was so important to say right away. Our appetizer came out and literally 7 minutes later our food came out, oh my god, so never mind our table was tiny weeny, we never got to finish with our app, they took it away to bring our food!! The food was not as good as I thought it would be, now obviously I didn’t get to try the entire menu but the total of 7 items we did get were not so spectacular that I would say.. well even though my stay sucked this time would I go back because the food was just great. No, no, not at all! My table was small- and so what no big deal but it was a big deal when the table right next to us had people come in sit and the customers big but knocked over my very expensive wine and some other items on my table. Then the owner proceeded towards these people, whether they were famous, Had money maybe, or maybe she knew them within the community the owner stood with her backside towards us wedged between the tables for a good 20 minutes talking to these people we had to look at the owners butt the entire time!! It was like I was in an episode of I Love Lucy! To top it off it was birthday!! The owner knew this because I told them prior to me coming and yes, they put balloons at my table that flew in my face all night because they had the door approximately 25 feet away from me open, blowing in, but at the same time thank gid because it was so hot in there. But no, that wasn’t it. It was the fact that that owner that spent time letting me see her buttocks for 20 minutes, never even came to say happy birthday. Then why ask if there was an occasion if you can’t even say happy birthday????

For a spot that has been opened for 1 week when we dined, it exceeded all expectations. We had to wait about 15 minutes past our reservation time to sit, but that's what the bar is for. What an incredibly beautiful bar and restaurant. Strong drinks and friendly staff. After we sat, the waitress was welcoming and attentive. We ordered several apps, salad midcourse, entrees and dessert. Elaine and her husband greeted every table and made us feel like we were dining at their home. Elaine even cut up, tossed and served us our salad while telling us a story about how it's the salad she's been serving at home for decades. All in all, this restaurant will be a staple in the Setauket community and will be placed into my personal rotation. 10 out of 10. Try the Brussel sprouts, halibut, any pasta, or the skirt steak. All Fab!

"The ambiance was lovely and beautiful! My boyfriend and I ordered the meatball ricotta, which was decent. The meatballs weren't soaked in sauce and were a bit firmer. It seemed like they were cooked separately and then later combined with sauce and ricotta cheese. My boyfriend enjoyed them i typically don't enjoy my meatballs cooked that way. However, the zucchini fries were fantastic, especially with the garlic aioli sauce! My boyfriend ordered the carbonara with fried chicken on top, which he rated 7.5/10 and which I was a personal fan of. I opted for the tagliatelle pasta, recommended by our waitress, but it lacked flavor; I would rate it a 5.5/10. On the bright side, the drinks, including the espresso martini and cosmo, were excellent! I definitely think this place is good for apps and drinks. Will try again.

Immaculate vibes, blew us away! Fast service and absolutely amazing food. You have to try the carbonara and cappuccino! We can’t wait to walk down here from our house for years to come☺️

Service was decent. Food was nothing to rave about. For the quality of the food, pricing was high. We were the first in the building during the grand opening and they changed our seating at three times. Not once did the owner (whom was making her rounds), come over and ask how we were doing or apologize. The staff was great and the atmosphere was pretty however, I feel this place overall subpar.

This place is fantastic!! Beautifully renovated, great vibe and delicious menu! I highly recommend it!! The owners were in the dining room the entire night hanging with the customers. Looking forward to going back.

Our first time at Elaine's. We sat at the bar, met some great people! You can see the food we ate in the pics. Everything was good and our bartender Saia was very nice.

"And the people that you knew at Elaine's!" Sorry, I had to be the first to sing that verse. I've been living in this area for over 30+ years. It's nice to see a beautiful restaurant opened in the old Tai Show North space. And what they did to transform the restaurant is very impressive. My wife and I arrived at 9pm for the only reservation I could snag on Friday. Walking in, it has a very upscale feel. Lots of great pictures adorn the host stand. I see a gentleman smoking a cigar in one of the pictures, I said is that you? He said it is, taken at his daughters wedding. Even the candles are bougie! At the hostess stand, they had an Elaine's candle lit. More mood items to get you comfortable. We started with drinks, I ordered the "Paper Plane" made with Bourbon, aperol and amaro. A sweet strong treat to get the party at Elaine's started. For appetizers, we ordered the Zucchini Chips and the Beet Salad. Both excellent starts, the beet salad had lots of nice notes with goat cheese and pomegranate seeds. The Zucchini chips had a light fry on them, very addicting. So my wife and I are having drinks and enjoying small bites and then we order our main entrees. There are lots of Italian specialties on the menu, I'm going with the housemade ravioli. When the server comes over, she said the ravioli this week is made with pine nuts, sage and tossed in brown butter. What was served to me was a belly bomb mess. The ravioli were cooked and put in a bowl. Now add a ladle of butter, throw some pine nuts on top and serve. The ravioli were overcooked, the pasta was mushy and all stuck together. The pasta swimming in butter didn't help trying to peel off a ravioli. My wife ordered the Eggplant Parmigiana, she said it was very plain. If you're thinking its something like nonna would make, it was not. Was it cheesy? No. Was it saucey? No. It was fresh, yes but just basic. Would I return? After the initial buzz winds down and the kitchen gets their groove on with the main dishes. Maybe they were slammed first week of opening? I dunno but the pasta I had last night was off. Elaine's owners? Welcome to the neighborhood. It was nice to see a new restaurant buzz in the community, every table was packed! The host staff was friendly and I wish you great success.
