Vegetarian options: Vegan options are great!
I usually get rigatoni linguini orecchiette or spaghetti with sauce and grilled eggplant, broccoli rabe, and I add nutritional yeast!

My wife and are a new to Smithtown and have been making our rounds trying the various restaurants nearby. Last week was Casa Rustica. Went early on a Thursday(5pm). First ones in there and greeted nicely by the Mgr/owner?? Ordered a bottle of red and some apps/entrées. Everything was delicious! From the mussel special to the swordfish livornaise. This will become one of our " go to's". Thank you!

The food is authentic and was very, very good! The management and wait staff went above and beyond to make sure all of our needs were met for a very large family repass dinner. Their patience, care and attention to the needs of the family were exemplary. We would highly recommend this restaurant!

Dietary restrictions: The staff will accommodate for specific needs.

Went with a party of six. Every one was very disappointed. Ordered the shrimp stuffed with crabmeat served over risotto. The shrimp was overcooked and rubbery and the risotto was undercooked and hard.
Ordered a tartufo for desert which was served melted and resembled ice cream soup. When the waiter was questioned about this, his response was that it was “hot in the kitched”.
Speaking of the wait staff, they were inattentive and uninterested despite the fact that the restaurant was not that crowded.
My experience was disappointing and I will not be frequenting this restaurant again.

My wife & I (who is a very picky eater) throughly enjoyed Cafe Rustica. It’s a nice & cozy restaurant. We didn’t have any alcohol. They serve Semolina bread & Semolina bread with an olive spread & bruschetta. We ordered fried calamari which was delicious, lightly breaded & spicy marinara. I ordered the squid ink pasta special that comes w/ shrimp, scallops, spinach, white beans & garlic. It was very good. My wife ordered Branzino which comes w/ roasted potatoes & mixed veggies which was also delicious. Very nice employees. The only reason for four stars is because the building could use a cleaning & I’ve had better squid ink pasta elsewhere. We will definitely be returning.

A truly remarkable Elk Osso Buco served over a creamy perfectly executed risotto was the highlight of the evening. The octopus starter with a balsamic reduction was not only great but plentiful. The mussels and sausage starter had a buttery sauce again great. This is a place that attentive, efficient but not intrusive staff. As for the prices they were commensurate with good restaurants in the area and the wine list was fairly extensive. All in all a brilliant night out,

Classic Italian fine dining in Smithtown. I love coming here with my family for dinner. The food is always delicious - i recommend their flambéed butter lobster, calamari, baked clams, and pastas.

I see that people are complaining about the staff bashing a gay couple. That's awesome, we need more of that in 2024. I actually met the owner last year and spent time with him, he's a great guy and I respect how this business is run

A group of 8 of us went during restaurant week. The service was wonderful for the number of ppl we had. We had a nice round table in a little nook area, and we were able to hear each of us talk. Our conversations were not drowned out. The quantity of food was more than enough and delicious.

Absolutely the worst service I have ever experienced. I wanted a drink before our price fixe dinner of a large group and the waiter acted like I was a burden! We ordered the first round of drinks and he brought us a bill to pay for the drinks! I handed it back to him asking what it was, meaning why!? We were going to want more drinks and were willing to pay for it, he acted like he was afraid that we weren't going to pay! I'll probably never go back there with that type of attitude. I never felt so indignant at a restaurant. 2 stars Cafe Rustica!

My boyfriend and I had the pleasure of experiencing a delightful Valentine's Day dinner at Cafe Rustica in Smithtown, and it exceeded all expectations. From the moment we stepped in, we were warmly greeted and seated with genuine delight. Our waiter was incredibly attentive, patiently answering our questions about the specials and offering his recommendations on the most popular and tastiest entrees. Within minutes, we were toasting to another Valentine's Day celebration with perfectly crafted dirty martinis that set the tone for the evening. The appetizers arrived promptly, and we couldn't have been happier with our choice of clams and oysters. The seafood was impeccably fresh, as if it had just been plucked from the ocean! My boyfriends main course, lobster, was an absolute delight. Each bite was bursting with flavor, making it one of the most delicious dishes I've ever tasted! For my entree, I ordered my favorite, a classic beet and goat cheese salad, which always leaves me satsfied, and this salad was .True to their excellent service, our waiter even remembered to wrap up the leftovers for me to enjoy as lunch the following day, saving me from forgetting it as we headed towards our valeted vehicle.Overall, our dining experience at Cafe Rustica was splendid. The freshness, impeccable service, and cozy atmosphere made it a memorable evening. I can't wait to return for another dinner and indulge in their exquisite cuisine once again.Highly recommended!
