Everything was fine until the staff (the manager, actually) found in necessary to tell my date that I was giving “bad vibes” (after I had payed the tip, of course) while she went off to the bathroom, effectively ruining the date and my entire night.

This is THE best Italian restaurant on LI and easily one of my top 5 restaurants overall. I always bring my out of town guests here and I have hosted several large gatherings here for 15-25 people over the years. The food and service are always exceptional. Chef Marco puts his all into his dishes.

First time here and it was a magical experience, I had Jackie as my server( or was it Steven?). From the start of the night I felt like I was a horse lord amongst the Darhraki. Any need that I had it was answered, the drinks I prefer were fantastic and they have a wide selection. The portions are large and are able to feed a foster family of twelve. The drinks, the food, the desert. I WAS SCREAMING FOR MORE. Until the cops removed me I was trying to eat everything insight(people included.) Overall I would eat here any day of the week and possibly create a cult in the service of hasbulla

Excellent. Went here for my birthday. Everything on the menu was amazing and I didn't feel like I over did it. Chilean sea bass was a bit pricier than I think it merited but it was very good. The NY strip I'm told was very tender. The pasta made in the parm cheese wheel was most likely the best pasta dish I ever had but we split it as an appetizer (recommended) because it's very rich. My only complaint is the tables are pretty small and we were kinda squished in the corner - also they don't allow you to hang you coat on the back of your chair which is a little annoying especially because I realized I forgot something in my coat once it had already been checked in. Service was very kind and attentive.

Beneath the patina of an everyday strip mall facade lurks a first class and authentic Italian restaurant. Wow.

We had dinner with friends last night and found the food to be very good and the service attentive. It's too bad the restaurant stands on attitude and has no customer relations support, especially when dealing with its management. Let me explain. Earlier in the ordering, my guest wanted to exchange mashed potatoes for another vegetable. No problem as long as we agreed to a $5.00 extra charge. We were surprised but accepted it. When it can to dessert , we discovered that the restaurant had a policy of only one flavor per serving of 3 balls of Gelato. One asked why to the manager we were told "contamination "? When suggested three plates , the manager had an attitude that it was the policy of the restaurant and she wouldn't accommodate the request.. We cancelled our order and won't be back.

This is as good a Restaurant as you will ever find on Long Island. A Magnificent interior hides behind a somewhat ordinary façade. The Wood Roasted Tomahawk Steak is simply Outstanding. Get the pasta tossed in the wheel of parmesan.

I came here on a weeknight with my co workers and had a fabulous meal. The restaurant is upscale and a perfect place to have a conversation as it was not loud inside. We were well taken care of by our waiter (he was excellent at upselling) and the staff and had excellent food. We started with the pasta appetizer that starts with lighting a huge Parmesan cheese wheel on fire. It is served table side so you get a show as well. While the cheese melts, the chef pours a pasta with truffle cream sauce into the cheese wheel and mixes everything together and serves it on your plate. The pasta was so creamy and cheesy and very rich. I ordered the Chilean sea bass for my main meal and it was one of the tastiest meals I've had in awhile. The fish was seared on the outside and very tender. It sat on top of a canneloni bean mixture, beet puree and broccolini. The Brussels sprouts were also very tasty. My co workers all enjoyed their meals as well (lamb chops, branzino, beef tartare, ribeye steak). The restaurant is located in a strip mall and there was plenty of parking in the lot. The restaurant is immaculate and bathrooms were very clean. I would definitely come back for the food!

Wow did we have a great experience at Osteria Umbra. My expectations were HIGH, and they were met. I need to start by saying this restaurant is pricey. We came here for our anniversary (plus we had a $100 gift card from Christmas) but this is not an everyday dining experience. Our waitress Morgan was unbelievably nice; professional and attentive. She explained the history behind the restaurant and gave us plenty of recommendations. I had a delicious pear martini and we shared the scallops and the calamari to start. I have scallops pretty much everywhere I go; these were good but not out of this world. The calamari was grilled and served on skewers and they were fantastic. We just had to have the pasta special cooked in the Parmesan wheel table side. The pasta was perfectly cooked snd the truffle sauce was fantastic. My husband doesn't even like truffle typically but he finished his plate quicker than I did. We then shared the ribeye which was for sure one of the top five steaks we've ever had. It came with herb butter, a little arugula salad and mashed potatoes; I always appreciate when a steak entree comes with a side. Even though we were stuffed, my husband said the strawberry gelato was calling his name so we ordered that and I had a tiramisu martini. Both were delicious. Our waitress mentioned all desserts are made in-house. I LOVE a dessert martini and they had an extensive list. Osteria Umbra really made our anniversary dinner special. We will absolutely be back for our next occasion that needs celebrating.

We celebrated my moms engagement here and it couldn't of been a more perfect place to go! Food and atmosphere was great! What made the night was how lively, kind and informative Mindy our waitress was! Can't wait to go back! :)

Our favorite restaurant on Long Island hands down! From the moment you walk in, the ambiance and staff exude warmth and authenticity, creating the perfect atmosphere for a delightful meal. The service was impeccable. The staff members were not only attentive but also incredibly knowledgeable about the menu offerings. Sabrina, our server, provided excellent recommendations and ensured that every aspect of our dining experience was top-notch. Our group of 6 sat at the lounge high-tops and enjoyed Heather's delicious craft cocktails. Each dish we ordered showcased fresh, high-quality ingredients and Chef Marco's skillful execution, from the homemade pasta dishes to the wood-fired courses and Sabrina's homemade desserts. The wine selection perfectly complemented the meal, with a diverse range of options to suit every palate. We had their newly released Osteria Umbra wine, and it was delightful. Osteria Umbra exceeds our expectations every time. It's the kind of restaurant where you can truly savor each moment and will be making the next reservation on your way out. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic dining experience!
