LOVE ?First, the sangria is out of this world delicious. I would go back just for that.Staff is incredibly friendly and the food was perfection.Five out of five all the way.
When you walk in, you feel like you've stepped into a family home. The food and atmosphere will make you feel at home. There's very authentic food, for affordable prices, that will make you want to come back and try the rest of the menu. Try the sopes!
Vegetarian options: SopesStuffed pepper
Parking: Decent amount of parking, but you may want to carpool if you're a larger group
Well worth the wait. Every dish was delicious and clearly made with fresh ingredients. Prices were extremely reasonable compared to Mexican restaurants in the Rochester area. Please be patient with the staff; like so many other places, they are operating with very help. The waiter was also assisting in the kitchen, so often there was no one in the dining room (we sat ourselves and drink orders were taken a few minutes after). Our food took a bit longer than it should've, and they generously served us some guacamole on the house! Arrive with patience, but this place is worth the wait AND the drive to Sodus!
Que Rico! The food here was the best, authentic Mexican food i have found in the rochester area. They are struggling to find help; so you may wait a bit for service, it is a drive from rochester, but it is so worth it. Give this restaurant a try. Support them in what they do. This is perhaps the only real mexican restaurant around.
Very tasty carnitas..beans, homemade!!guess they are closing after 30 yrs..sad..know its a difficult business...restaurant's w good food, service, are far and few between!...Although it was quite busy, 1 guy working the entire Restaurant..is a bit overwhelming for anyone..but he did great!..good experience thax!
The food took a long time to arrive, and to say it was overpriced would be a huge understatement. By my calculation, we were charged approximately double what we should have been charged. The itemized reciept was hand written and didn't clearly show how it was priced. When we questioned the owner about why it was so expensive, she got defensive and threw a bunch of excuses at us instead of fixing the errors. In the end, she refunded us about 15%, which didn't come close to correcting the mistakes made on our bill.
This is likely the Best Mexican Restaurant I’ve been to in the United States. (I’ve been to Mexican restaurants in Massachusetts, San Antonio TX, San Diego CA, and here in a rural town in western NY is this gem! Homemade food that is real cooking with just the right amount of herbs and flavor.Maravilloso
We came on the late side but they still let us in. It was authentic Mexican food alright! Very good.
The best enchiladas I have ever eaten! Authentic Mexican food. We have been going to this restaurant for over 15 years and the food has always been consistently awesome. The food is very fresh, the vegie 3 amigos enchiladas had an assortment of fresh vegetables with 3 amazing sauces. The mole was especially tasty just the right amount of heat! The chicken one was equally delicious. It’s worth the drive as the food far surpasses any other Mexican food in this area. If your into authentic Mexican food this is the place to go!
I used to live in Rochester, NY for 10 years and every time I visit, I always drive out to grab the best Mexican food I have ever had in the USA. I will say it again, the BEST Mexican food in the USA. It’s truly authentic and every bite has incredible flavors and is super fresh. You will not be disappointed. The gauc, chips, salsa, tres amigos chicken enchiladas (blue corn tortillas), followed by dessert: tres leches and flan are my favorites.

Food is good! But prices are advertised wrong! 25% up charge on each meal crazy expensive! 80$ for 3 people!
This is hands-down the best Mexican food anywhere near us. My husband and I live in Farmington, and we love Mexican food. As this restaurant is way out in Sodus, we don't get there nearly as often as we would like. The restauant is small with a very authentic, home-like appeal. Maria and her staff are always kind, friendly, and courteus. Sometimes the wait can be a little longer, but it is so worth it. We always order the homemade authentic salsa and gaucamole with chips to start. My personal entree is the Tres Amigos enchiladas. Each sauce is so good, I have trouble choosing. All food is freshly prepared, authentic, and tasty. The Sangria is home-made and wonderful! My husband loves that he can have a real authentic coke with real cane sugar rather than HFCS. The prices are very reasonable, the portion sizes are perfect. We have been a customer for years now, and hope Maria never closes!! Thank you, Maria!
Best authentic Mexican food. Food is fresh and incredible. We have been coming back here for years.Unfortunately, I cannot leave a 5 star review because the service was just awful. The waitress was extremely rude. We were the only customers in the dining room and she didn’t ask us if we needed anything. Didn’t bring water the whole meal - and we got some spicy things! Didn’t put any prices on the check, and argued with my husband when we asked for the prices to be listed. She looked very bothered when we asked for water at the end of the meal saying she “only had 2 hands”.I’m so sad to let this gem go, but my family will not tolerate disrespect.
Took the family here for an early dinner. The food was tasty! It was full of flavor and comfortable atmosphere.
It was a weird set up. There was no one in the main dining room working when we came in. It was late, close to closing, about 7:40, and the server was clearly annoyed. My husband didn't like a portion of his meal and the server said, "but you ate it, didn't you? Well I like the way it tastes. " I thought that was surprisingly rude. I really enjoyed my combo, chicken tacos with chalupa. Very fresh tasting. Even though the server indicated that they would like to rush because they wanted to go home we had to wait a while for the check. Good food but iffy service unfortunately.
